One of the world leading advertising agency's motto is: Brutal Simplicity of Thought. It's at the beginning and end of EVERY pitch.

Yes indeed, and we have Mr Edward Burnays to "thank" for that. It's amazing how simple it really is.

Good vid. Never heard of this till now and I appreciate your explanation. I split my forehead in a fall as a child and have come to suspect that I may have sustained damage to my frontal lobe causing me to miss some of the more subtle and subliminal emotional signaling in mass media. I gradually realized that most people around me were reacting in what I considered strange and dramatic ways to things (especially on TV) that I just found comical or obviously contrived and phony. I've always been a very stoic sort of person and I feel like this Kuleshov effect is mostly lost on me due to it. Just a thought. Thanks for the great post

I'm sorry to hear about your injury, and it may very well be why you don't react to things like other people do. Thank you so much for sharing and for your comment!

The pre conceived notion is how 2 people can see the same event yet disagree with each other when discussing what they just saw. This phenomenon is not limited to audio/visual... in fact it is more prevalent when reading. I came to understand this when studying the mind. Basically your subconscious mind constructs a "mental copy" of your frequent environments so your conscious mind does not have to perform redundant processes. Most of what you see is what your subconscious mind shows you. Unless you make a conscious effort to observe everything as if you have never looked upon it, you will find that your "head is in the clouds", "living in a fantasy world". Fortunately, just like witchcraft, your conscious awareness prevents the "magick"...

Yes the Arts. That which we have been made to believe is a bunch of airy-fairy nonsense though in reality it controls peoples lives. I studied Graphic Design & Advertising. Talk about the sub conscience being hammered by subliminal messaging. Now that's an art. Art comes in many forms. We have been fooled into thinking art is a class you pick at school and has no effect on you on from then on, for the rest of your life. HA! Very Artful indeed.
