Stay and a new atiny because of this comeback , now rock is back as a musical genre trend so is normal kpop use it now rock in kpop is nothing new in generations 1-2-3-4 said that putting rock metal elements in kpop it is done from the origins of kpop including screams, seo taiji and sm ent used rock metal elements because they were inspired by nu metal and the Japanese visual kei genre both for music and for aesthetic style, the ateez are more reminiscent of a return to the origins of kpop, which does not surprise me given the obsession that hoongjong has for the old kpop. After i heard guerilla i was thinking of H.O.T. '아이야! (I yah!)' 1999 song or another h.o.t or seo or clickb etcc songs

As an atiny i really missed their rougher and more epic sound they have had from debut until 2020, it really is their element. Though i am all for them exploring and trying new things, they really shine with their more loud and abrasive songs. So guerrilla was very warmly welcomed on my part, as someone who loves all genres (except for country) and found deja vu and fireworks kind of lacking compared to what i know they're capable of. Combine the amazing track with the moving lyrics and it really makes the message they're putting through the song sooo believable. You used the word cinematic for one part. Man, you gotta listen to the album. It's cinematic ost after ost after ost. Talking about some of the things you noted: Seonghwa's demon part is one of my favorite things in the mv and the performances, and you really have to give it to the guy for executing it amazingly every single every time. Hongjoong's opening is one of my fave things he has ever done ngl. Yunho center, yes I love it so much too. San is killing it as always throughout the mv. I'd like to add Mingi's part is so addictive, Woo performances for this song you gotta see, Yeosang shined so much in this album, Jongho our gem- omg his part gives me straight chills... The plot is kinda in the same tone as our lore here - dystopian future, lower classes want to rebel, etc. I mention it because it's very old so not a lot of people know it, but it's worth knowing how many things there are to look for in this MV.

as someone who's part of the "younger audience" you were talking about, i LOVED guerrilla, a lot more than i thought i would honestly, and the screamo part in the dance break is actually one of my favorite parts of the song 😭i agree that it's 100% not a genre i've really seen in kpop before, but ateez really made it their own and pulled it off so well. and 6 wins this comeback?!? i'm so so proud of them, and i can't wait to see how much they'll grow (both musically and otherwise) in the future ❤

Seriously, BIG kudos to ATEEZ, and their Creative and Production Teams. This album, the whole body of work they released for this comeback is legendary, iconic, revolutionary. The entire album as a whole, feels to me, like righteous revenge, reclamation, redemption, retribution, and revolutionary rage. Like, "Holy Wrath". I can't choose a favorite song from this album, it's a whole no-skip masterpiece. For me, this entire album's lyrics, vocal text painting, music production, storytelling, visuals, art design, soundscape, choreography, styling, and concept as a whole body of work is so epically encompassing, liberating, cathartic, cinematic, complex, and surprisingly progressive yet also thought-provokingly familiar, with so much substance and nuanced layers to unpack. This release is a true well thought out Art piece that wholly conveys objective meaning AND subjective interpretation; it's truly a wall-breaking, ground-breaking, record-breaking genius body of work, a gift that keeps on giving. It's innovative cohesively chaotic genius, one of the best albums I've heard in years. I find it amazing that the whole rebellious mavericks theme of ATEEZ as a group and for this comeback even bleeds into how the intention of producing each song for this album defies the very logic of song structure and music theory. Truly breaking status quo, pushing past limits of what is expected, and reinventing things anew. And I think it's fascinating how the album is meant to be a whole listening experience journey, mirroring the complex unpredictability and extremity of human nature and the expansive human experience itself beginning to end full circle in cycles. I love how everything was carefully curated yet also intuitively conveyed. I also love how each track is mechanically "cerebral" sounding, grand/ bold, odd, liminal, ambiguous, sophisticated, bright/ flashy, industrial, experimental/ new/ fresh, musically technical "sensory overload", nonconforming, and individualistic "noise music", yet also passionately raw and emotionally soulful, down to earth, comprehensible, directional, concise, gritty, dark, primal, primordial, emotionally moving, anthemic, infectious, and unifying; in short, "cool" yet still relatable. Each song feels like a shocking awakening turned into a life- altering epiphany turned into the instinctual determined call for movement, change, and action with a "the light at the end of the dark tunnel" feeling, the human psyche going through cognitive dissonance and clarity, stagnation and progression, death and rebirth, destruction and recreation; as if every major moment of upheaval that every human experiences at least once in their life was encapsulated and translated into music. All of the songs in ATEEZ' The World Ep. 1: Movement sound "movie score" worthy. I could totally imagine these as BGM and OSTs for a dystopian cyberpunk movie with a lot of bleak, dark, gritty/gnarly scenes and niche obscured "underground" scenes/ societies. It's as if every extreme life - changing moment in the human psyche and experience when pushed past limits with all its grueling grave lows and glorious great highs and every complex extreme deep emotion in between, were all turned into songs, songs that come "full circle" as calls for "beginnings" and proclamations of "ends" of cycles, birth & death, revelation & revolution, stagnation & evolution, ambition & resignation, expression, repression, suppression, depression, immersion, liberation.. All encapsulated into an album. It all feels distinct yet also ambiguous, tangible yet also diaphanous, like a cliffhanger full of potential possibilities and "open doors". The soundscape of this album paints a picture of how humans only truly reach their biggest potential when pushed past their limits. I also find it cool how album is aptly named The World: Movement and how it correlates with my perception of it; how each track & the entirety of the album feels all encompassing like it all comes into "full circle"(literally & figuratively like the Earth/ World) in many ways, how the album, the name, and everything else fits the story/ explanation behind their new Möbius loop logo.. And also with the movement name, the album gives me a sense of dynamic movement too in many different ways. Movement, in the sense of unified action for a cause, moving forward, getting up and taking action, changing perceptions and perspectives through exploring other schools of thought, and movement in the sense of viewing this album like how one would view the movements and stories in a classical music piece. The World: Movement is such a fitting name for this. Their whole body of work this era with the album, the MV, the visual concepts, the promotion strategies, and the performances, truly is a whole package embodying Art and the essence of true revolutionary Artists; bringing about the electrifying winds of change and reform, creative expression and expansion, disruption for a cause, evocation and provocation of profound meaning, emotion and movement. If I were to sum up all of their past work, I'd say that so far, this era/album is their greatest work, their Magnum Opus. Truly a Marvel in time, they truly cemented their status as Mavericks in the industry with this. I think only their next future releases can possibly top this for me. I love the musical direction and approach they took for the production of this album. I feel like the "messy" all over the place structure of Guerrilla and the rest of the songs in the album was intentionally done to fit the theme/ narrative and to shake things up and add shock value, adhering to their concept for this era along with the objective to "make noise" to make noise and be heard. What I mean by this is that, the songs sound metallic, mechanical, gritty, gnarly, raw, primal, unpredictable, heavy, dark, moody, uncomfortable, jarring, aggressive, chaotic, erratic, and like there's so much going on, because they mirror and paint the context of what happens in an uprising revolution; the effects of worlds destroyed to be rebuilt again and all its trials and tribulations on the human psyche, of beginnings and ends of cycles in full circle, of losses and gains, of the storm and chaos in the physical/ tangible/ material world and also in the internal/ psychological/ emotional worlds of the people involved in the upheaval of the industrial dystopian world, and how the human nature processes it all as individuals and as a society; the way this was done, seems to convey how the human nature experiences the impact of jarring change and disruption, along with the most extreme of uninhibited ferocious emotions from the grave grueling lows and great glorious highs people feel when pushed past their limits. I find it interesting how the songs feel like open ended cliffhangers too. Because other than this album being a start of a movement in parts from the lore, it may also be because it implies for us to derive conclusions on our own about where/ how it should go from here, and also maybe because the context/ purpose of this album relating to it's target audience, is to leave potential possibilities and "open doors" in the mind for people to mull over, just like how in real life, major life upheavals leave us with open options/ endings and potential possibilities to choose from. When humans are pushed past their limits by an upheaval leading to a "clear blank slate"/ new world, a new potential for possibilities & decisions in life is paved, & you can choose to either let that experience break you or mold you, to either wither from it or to grow from it. ..I feel like this aspect in human nature, relates greatly with the way the songs and album were produced and influences how the prod team intended for us to perceive the songs/ album. Because even though we're not time-traveling space renegade pirates, we all have/had moments of realization, reckless abandon, rebellion, revolting, fear, hope, despair, desolation, camaraderie, unity, fury, outrage, vigor, valor, ambition, anticipation, desperation, determination, resignation, suppression, repression, oppression, depression, deception, expression, liberation, elation, gain, loss, resentment, disappointment, listlessness, emptiness, numbness, injustice, etc and such profound momentous experiences of the human existence as a collective, is artfully conveyed, interpreted, & filtered through ATEEZ' cinematic portrayal. This is why I love Ateez' music, they are and they give gifts that keep on giving. Through a whimsical theatrical artistic lens, they touch upon the driving forces behind the pulse of humanity. Life imitates Art, that's consistently true with ATEEZ. Like how they have always done, they explored the inner workings of the human mind and the intricacies of the human experience and youth in this album too. But compared to their other eras, the chapter of The World Ep. 1: Movement is raw & gritty, stripped of naïvety and whimsy. The jaded dreamer/ tortured artist/ / scorned survivalist/ daredevil hero/warrior mindset of renegade anarchist rebel pirate musicians in a underground resistance was tastefully portrayed IMO. The whole album really gives off a "Do or Die. All or Nothing. We have nothing to lose. No fear. This is worth living/dying for." feeling to me. When I say this album changed me, I'm not kidding. Listening to it for the first time felt like a life-altering experience, as if I "shifted" to another perception of "reality". I was reborn, I grew, it changed me on a molecular level, it changed the trajectory of my life, I evolved, I was never the same again after this.

Take this with a grain of salt because I don't consume ALL Kpop content, but of what I do, Ateez is one of few male groups in the newer gens that sing this powerfully. I only really think of one company when it comes to strong male vocals, but Ateez just BRING it. I hope the continue thriving in whatever concept/sound they bring next. Great guys.

I've been an atiny since say my name era, been watching the teaser previews for every cb, and ateez seriously never dissapoint. I've always been a fan of screamo and hip-hop, so those genres being paired together in guerrilla had me falling outtttt. I had to force myself to put down my phone after I played the preview for the 5th time, I fr felt like I was floating with jongho's vocals in the chorus. I'm so happy they're touching on different genres. like you said, guerrilla isn't formatted like a traditional kpop song, I mean they're straight up yelling at you for the chorus. and yet it still has the ateez vibe. when you listen to guerrilla, you KNOW it's and ateez track, even with all the experimentation. ateez are definitely going places.

My favorite title track of theirs and the one that made me start to stan Ateez was Wonderland. I usually am a fan of darker and more agressive concepts. Before getting into kpop, I had a long emo/screamo phase, followed by a jrock/visual kei phase. Guerilla, might just be my new favorite title track of theirs. It is just SO GOOD. I saw so many reactors and atinys lose their mind (myself included) when Hongjoong screamed. My favorite part though is the one that starts with San (where he reaches out to Wooyoung), followed by Jongho and Yunho toward the end of the song. THE VOCALS!!!!!! That said, my favorite b-side track of theirs was Take Me Home. I said was, because as soon as I heard the preview for Cyberpunk, I knew it was going to be my favorite and I was right. It owns my soul. I wish you could react to it on your channel, but I know you keep album listens on Patreon so I might just join to find out what you thought of it. Honestly, this album is in my opinion, the best they have released so far. All the songs are so good. I am so so proud of them.

When I heard the song at first, I couldn't pinpoint on how to feel about it. This song is so different yet so familiar, the way they infused kpop and rock together along with screamo put me in a trance that I finally snapped out after rewatching it for like 3 times. I love how different it is, how shocking it is and how powerful it is. I feel like this will give an absolute impact for the new generation of kpop. They presented something new and creative that makes me feel how aware they were about their fan demographics. They are more famous among international fans and they took advantage of that, thus infusing different genres and it is such a nice fan service for us. I understand if some people don't really like screamo but this will definitely be an eye opener and interest starter towards the genre, especially among koreans. So everytime I watch their performance for the past 2 weeks, I'd go "Ahh..as expected of Ateez. They fully deserved the 8 wins."

Two of my current favourite bands outside of Kpop are Electric Callboy and Bloodywood, so I'm very familiar with these harsh screaming vocals and I love it. To be fair, I was into Metal long before I discovered Kpop, so of course Guerilla is right up my alley. Also, I'm pretty sure that this isn't the location where Kim Lip, Stray Kids, Oneus and Pixy shot their videos. That one has a glass roof at the top, this here doesn't. It's probably the other one that looks similar.

ooh this mv was digipedi work :)) the screamo took everyone by surprise, for me it was like i was going back to years ago when i used to listen to a lot of hardcore rock (influenced by my brothers) so it was hitting the right spot, Jongho's part "we are oh" also got me shocked af and the "break the wall" (which became part of the fanchant) omfg i cant express well enough how i felt when i heard for the first time but i was/am so happy that they incopored in this song (also the bsides.... i can say that's one of the best ateez albuns for sure)

While I don’t normally listen to screamo or heavier rock, this song took me by surprise and I’ve been playing it on repeat ever since it dropped. There is something about it that’s addictive. A change from their other sounds, but done in a way that is so Ateez. It also fit perfectly to the storylines message; you can’t overthrow a government without some uumph.

This was their most powerful comeback so far I think. I feel like the cinematic feel went even further than the Real, and I love both songs. I think what I appreciate about this comeback, is that the ENTIRE album is a manifesto and a call to arms. It doesn’t feel like just a compilation of songs, but truly a movement as the album title suggests. Also- i don’t know how anyone could watch this and NOT start screaming Break the wall at the end with them. The end is truly insane.

There are several references in the vid to the film Metropolis which is a 1927 German expressionist science-fiction drama film directed by Fritz Lang, and written by Thea von Harbou in collaboration with Lang from von Harbou's 1925 novel of the same name. Intentionally written as a treatment, it stars Gustav Fröhlich, Alfred Abel, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, and Brigitte Helm. The first spoken lines come from a dystopian novel which Ateez has repeated ever since Rhythm Ta. In a recent VLive they mentioned that they had recorded (most?) this vid before their US tour in January. What they could NOT have predicted was the announcement by BTS that they were shifting their focus to their solo work to some extent. Thus creating a space for someone else to step up as a group. Who that will be isn't entirely clear yet, but this come back is an announcement that they are in the running for top 4th gen. And so much more. Time will tell. I wasn't quite ready for this when it first dropped. I think I was expecting a calmer, quieter, Ateez. I'm so glad that isn't what we got. Let's see if they'll: Make A Move.
