Hongjoong mentioned how the song is subversive because on the surface it's flexing and bragging but they're saying you can't buy what they earned you gotta work. The mv is random but there is meaning in the madness. Many scenes show get-rich-quick schemes (digging for gold, making counterfeit money, money laundering, striking an oil line, the goose and the golden egg...) but in their scenes together they're in the kitchen or restaurant working hard and serving. I don't know what it all means but it adds a fun context to the mv. I have no idea why he's riding an ostrich though😆

The MV was directed by Digipedi and crew but they also had an artist director (?) who has also worked with Steven Spielberg a number of times. Not sure of their name but it was mentioned in an article when the MV came out. Also in the behind the scenes, you can definitely hear a lot of American voices, so they definitely had a local crew working on it as well.

i think this mv shows how deeply ateez is connected to LA and i agree that it leans heavily into appreciation vs appropriation! i love that they continue to take risks while still maintaining their "ateez sound" i'm super excited to see how the rest of the golden hour parts unfold.

I loved the music video and song so much, I'm pretty sure they chose this aesthetic and the fact that most of the lyrics are in English bc of their Coachella performance to capitalize on the attention that the event brought to them from a western audience. I'm glad they didn't did the song fully on english and they mixed some of the aesthetic and lyrics with Spanish (as a Spanish speaker myself) bc these days in the kpop scene it seems like more and more groups are trying to focus way too much in the US market and they forget about the rest of their audience, so is really cool to see them not just focus on that audience but their Spanish audience as well

NGL that I loved the song much more than the mv at first (since they dropped that beat I was hooked) but thats because I was not prepared for the fun they bring here. Now since I watched it a million times and seeing the reactions I also love the mv. It shows Ateez can do literally anything and it relates to the group humour so much like we can see they are having a blast here

this song is so motivational, i have not been able to turn it off since release cuz it makes me actually ready to work (i work in a store, dealing with customers. rip) and it boosts my mood so much !! :D so fun to listen to, to watch and currently i'm also learning the dance as well lol it's soo nice to see them still stay themselves with touching onto different genres and stuff. it's so nice that they also do it appropriately and stuff. if you get to it, you will definitely love the album. such a ride to listen through. i love how they used their voices in this song soo much. it feels so fresh and interesting cuz we are not quite used to that ! like, we do know jongho gets that high note perfectly but in this song he ends it in a gruff ? a lil with a growl..?? i hope you get me but yeah i love it. it's different for him too and i'm soo damn happy about it. side note: you look really nice here sir therapy :D loving the look on you

Thank you PD!😊 For me I had to get used to it and still are a little bc it's so simple and kind of empty like mv in comparison to past ones, being shorter too and without a spoiler for next song! Same with the song, it's pretty simple and trendy in comparison. But still I know all have a reason and makes lot of sense, also all the references are great and them coming back to World A portraying their real selves feels more relatable and fun too so I'm getting to enjoy and love this Ateez side as well!! I thought golden hour was gonna be a slower and more ballad/rnb focused album when the name dropped but the more I look into work and the rest of the album I believe they mean golden as in literal gold haha.
