As a fuse and a musician, this comeback makes me so happy. The classical piece in the post chorus is actually sampled from Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2, a gorgeous symphony (and pretty well-known), if you haven't listened it's a good introduction into romantic era classical music. This comeback really feels like another one of their peaks, it's just so elegant and melancholic. EDIT: for those who want to listen to the part ONF samples, it's the Adagio movement.

I feel like with this comeback ONF have really cemented their concept and sound in kpop. Especially to note, I feel that their bringing back similar vibes of 2nd gen kpop. Emotion, expressive vocals, impactful choreo, and true meaning. They just keep getting better.

I interpreted the shot of U with the pen as him not being able to continue writing their story and wanting to end it, referenced in their final line 'Our story that can't continue, finally', but the other members reach and grab his hand as a way of saving him and pulling him away so he could let go of story that's ended. That's just how I saw it though.

You’re right! U is meant to represent hwang hyun (their producer) but also all of their collective drive to continue creating. so he’s writing lyrics (wyatt is burning lyrics not letters) and like u said, he’s about to put a period on it and end it, and they Stop him. hwang hyun spoke about it in an interview prior to bye my monsters release and the whole song is about their feelings towards making music and the pain it can bring them sometimes when they don’t get recognition for their work and passion

I don't stan ONF and frankly I've only ever heard a few songs from them, but this is still easily on my top 5 favorite kpop releases this year. Fell in love with the song the first time it randomly appeared on my Spotify and fell in love again with the music video. It’s so weird seeing this concept from them after their concert few months ago. They’re pure comedy both in person and on stage. Their translator was probably like “I give up! Thank you, I really love your reaction! This comeback was such a joyfully time for the fans. We had this georgeous song and MV, stunning music show stages (one with a real orchestra!), a win on one of the music shows (E-tion of course crying while singing the encore), lots of positiv attention and new fans, successful concerts in Seoul and lots of heartwarming content.... Its seemed like the boys enjoyed every second of it. Now they are off on another US tour and I can only hope they will also come to Europe.

Yes, a very heart-wrenching song....so crushingly beautifully tragic song indeed!! I like the way you described it. I actually feel a lot of pain in this song yet it is cushioned by the beautiful art in this song. Kudos to ONF and Hwanghyun. This is a piece of music art that deserves to win at all Music and Art Awards. Korea, please give them many awards for their exceptional talent!!! Their voices added on to the beautiful musical instruments. I also agree their expressions were precious in this song! For people who cannot feel it, they really need to worry because it's like a lost-in-touch with the core of the inner part of us. Wow 12/10 says it all!! This song never fails to move me to tears. Truly Phenomenal!
