As a Kurd , I'm reallly glad to read all the positive comments . Kurds have been denied human rights for years, the kurdish people have seen so much suffering, and still are suffering. I wish that one day my childeren can say that they are from a free united Kurdistan, without being made fun of or having to start a discussing,

Dr. Donny George: What Ancient Kurdish History? Dr. Donny George, New York. I read the fine and correct words of Mr. Fred Aprim in the last issue of your esteemed Magazine about the article that mentioned the Kurds and their history. From my own specialty and my over thirty years of experience in the field of archaeology, and having hundreds of archaeologists as friends and colleagues, I have never heard of such big lie and falsification, and twisting of the history. The Kurds, have no ancient history and antiquities according to the Iraqi Antiquities Law, the last of which was #55 in the year 2002. In that law anything that is older than 200 years is considered antiquity and ancient history, and the Kurds are not included in that time frame, because as Mr. Aprim mentioned, they only began to show up in the northern parts of Iraq by the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, as traveling tribes. There is no shame in that some people have no long history, but it is shameful if these same people try to steal the history of other people. THERE ARE NO DOCUMENTS THAT MENTION THE KURDS IN THE HISTORY OF MESOPOTAMIA, as far as I, a responsible person in the Iraqi antiquities, am concerned. No one has even heard of the Kurdish scholar mentioned in Aprim's article, and Mr. Shayda is not an archaeologist. He is a surveyor working in the Inspector's Office of Antiquities in Kirkuk. I do not wish to belabor this issue, but I need to say three things: There are many attempts to re-write the history of the Kurds, and to grab real history of real people and attach themselves to that history, without any shame, as it is said in Arabic: "Unless you you feel shame, you will do what you want." We must speak up, because the Kurds are working diligently to completely demolish and wipe out the Assyrians, and re-name them as "Christian Kurds", and all these attempts in the re-writing of history, fall in the same line." Dr. Donny George, a world-renown archaeologist and the former Chairman of the State Board of Antiquities and Heritage in Iraq and the Director of the Baghdad Museum.

It sounds like the Iraqi's are trying to write the Kurds out of history instead, how about all the Kurdish principalities from the 10th century on, they are written about.

Kurd can't get a part of Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. This is a virtual impossibility and it is the reason Trump pulled the US troops out. The Kurds were trying to incouraged the American into helping them create a Kurdish state. But Trump is a smart leader. He pulled the US troops out of Seria thereby saying no to the Kurds. Putting it in its simplest term - they can not be a Kurdish state. Sorry, everyone that is the way I see it.

Hi everyone, I am a kurd, I will introduce my people -- Who are the kurds? There are nearly 35-40 million kurds in the world, kurds are from aryan, kurdish is in Indo-European languages, most of kurds are muslim but we have non-muslim kurds, kurds founded many state in the past such as the Hurrians, the Medians, the Mervanids, the Hasanwayhids, the Rawadids, the Shaddadids, Saladin Ayyubi was also kurd but today, kurds are the most crowded stateless people in the world, -- Why kurds are stateless? Our lands are controlled by turks since 1049, turks weren't in anatolia even 11th century, turks came anatolia after the battle of kapetron, after the turkic invasion, we could founded some state but they couldn't exist a long time, ottoman empire lost worl war I in 1918, we could found our state like arabs, but our ancestors believed republic of turkey's founder kamal's lies, ottoman empire behaved well to kurds, because our religion are same, but kamal founded a racist system, kurdistan diveded into four by british empire, france and turkey in the treaty of Lausanne, then north kurdistan was given to turkey, South kurdistan was given to ıraq, West kurdistan was given to syria, East kurdistan was given to ıran, south kurdistan won self-government, when syrian civil war started syria forces retreated, then west kurds declared self-government but no side recognize them, west(rojava) kurdistan is under attack by turkey, ısıs, al-nusra and syria also North and east kurds have nothing, even our language and our culture were banned for years, we don't have education with our mother language, there is no enough school and hospital, there is no electricity, there is no water, there is no road in many kurdish villages and town, even many people are illiterate, many kurdish families left kurdish lands and their children forgot kurdish then they assimilated in forein lands -- What is our purpose? we are try to found a democratic republic, we are the most supporter of women's rights in the islamic countries maybe in the world, our women and men militaries are fighting aganist ısıs together, we are respect all religions and all opinions, we saved the non-muslims from ısis, we gave equal rights to non-muslims, we gave non-kurds education with their mother language, on the contrary we don't have enough support to found a free state, we need help

+Antony Chavez thank you for your interest, what can be more important than peace in this short life? We can believe different religions, we can speak different languages but we are human and all humans came from same civilization in the past, we just don't want to freedom for kurds, we wanna freedom for everyone, we understood this, nobody give you freedom, you must get your freedom, you can't be hero, if you think what will happen to you in the end.

Congratulations to The Rubin Report for putting together this video ! Well done. And congratulations to Bayan Rahman on an excellent presentation of the Kurds! Well done! Bayan is a truly beautiful woman, intelligent, articulate and professional - I think she did a brilliant job of responding to the questions and explaining the situation in the Middle East. She is to be commended and admired. When Kurdistan comes to be a recognised nation, I hope that Bayan will be given a significantly high position in the government of Kurdistan. I think its a tragedy to see that the US could have played a much greater role in defending the rights of the Kurds and helping them to establish their own homeland and giving them an opportunity to become a globally recognised country, fully embraced by all nations, and to be welcomed on to the international stage. But we pray for the Kurds that this will become a reality soon. May God bless the Kurds, may His protection always be over their lives and may He provide for them. Long Live the Kurds! The most famous Kurds of Antiquity were the Carduchoi who fought the Myriad (10.000 Greek troops returning from a Persian civil war) as described in "the return of the Myriad" by Xenophon. Most famous Kurd in history was Saladin, the most capable defender of the Muslims against the Crusaders, who was the definition of the moderate Muslim at a time when the Christians were the fundamentalists.

Kurds are treated similar to how we treated our native american allies in colonial days... i.e. we use them to fight for us and then we generally fuck them over. If Israel gets to be a country then Kurdistan should too, they have a better historical claim to their region in some ways then Israel did (which for the record I agree that Israel should be country, it just means that I won't selectively support some but not others).
@kaptainkafir62318 жыл бұрын
+Johnny Morgan what is this supposedly historical claim exactly? there was never a kurdish state or empire. why shouldn`t it be a Yizidistan or Assyrian state? Why should they live under Kurdish authority?
@mohamedn73118 жыл бұрын
+Johnny Morgan they are not natives they are perisans indian nomads
@kemeras36898 жыл бұрын
Kaptain Kafir Kurdistan was a thing for a very short while. Regardless you missed my point entirely. If they can hold it against all comers, then it is their homeland. Kind of like what every single group of people have done on this planet. Hold the ground and it is yours, fail to do so and it will be someone else who owns it.
@kaptainkafir62318 жыл бұрын
Johnny Morgan I`ve seen the map, layed out by kurds, of what a kurdish state should (according to them) incorporate. a lot of it, if not most, covers ground where other tribes are living currently. a cultural kurdish dominated state is as wrong as an arab muslim iraq. if you want to have a functional state, you have to give up national & cultural ideals & stop thinking in terms of groups of people. i believe that nation-states are a thing of the past & we know that your archaic idea of conquest & holding your ground is the reason why the middle east is still such a mess & one of the few places on this planet left which doesn`t progress. so my point being, the kurdish claim over those lands is as valid as everyone elses is, who lives there. a kurdish kurdistan would be no better than a sunni arab iraq. & if we are really honest here, the 1st & 2nd & 3rd kurdish interests are the oil fields.
@kemeras36898 жыл бұрын
Sooo groups of people under a nationalistic banner isn't ok with you so what is then? You may want to accept that Might is Right is 'archaic' but the dudes with guns are just going to laugh at you then shoot you in the face and take your women for themselves. Nationalism, like the US, does cover multiple groups. The only ones that can't seem to get on board are the Islamists and I'd support Kurds over the Islamists anyday. Frankly I don't give two shits about that region, I do like the Kurds and the west *has* taken their help over and over, I have no problem backing there bid for statehood *because* they have helped us. That doesn't mean I think we *should* do that, just that if we are I'd back the Kurds over other groups in that area but once again that is a personal preference and doesn't translate into policy. Anyway, keep beleive that military power isn't needed anymore, I'll just shake my head and chuckle when you are dead and gone. Good luck with that, you are gonna need it.

+Azamspazam91 I agree. It seems like whenever "right-wing" and "left-wing" are brought up, its as if both sides are miserably failing to be egalitarians. Really, I think Dave Rubin is in the right place by disagreeing with Milo, and I don't think its a good idea to associate with any groups here, but to associate with the correct side of issues without the normal tribalism and hatred.

they are amazing people we love them. much respect! they have fought with me. only think i'm shocked is the current U.S policy towards our independence. our enemies who are your enemies are ganging up against us and their U.S policy is not supporting Kurdish independence which is complete shock. iraq is run by iranian terrorist government and their malita who are very anti U.S and anti Western they walk on U.S and Israeli flags and the policy of the U.S for not supporting the independent Kurdistan is inline with them. i hope that changes Much love and respect to the American people! you have many great people !

I was on her side until she said that ISIS follows a distorted view of Islam. Really, I'm so over hearing this coming from every moderate's mouth. It's not ISIS who follows the distorted view of Islam Bayan, it's you, and every other moderate Muslim who refuses to accept that you guys are not the true Muslims. And it's this divide between the moderates who think they're right, and the militants who pull out verses directly from the Quran, that is making this fight so fucking difficult. Moderate Muslims are peaceful because they, as people, are peaceful. That doesn't mean their religion is peaceful, it means they are. And we have to understand this.
@romanromeo83708 жыл бұрын
+iReturnV1deotapes She has to say that due to that fact that the majority of Kurds are muslim. Although there has been a large uprising against Islam, with many kurds denouncing it and declaring that they have become atheist or agnostic... me included.

PKK is not the problem. Turkey is the problem. You can't expect Kurds to forever live in fever and subjugation. Give back Kurds their homeland and stop terrorizing them and then PKK will stop fighting back. Kurds are progressive Muslim whereas Turkey is regressing, going back on the 7th century.
@satanslittlehelper38 жыл бұрын
+David Durville In 7th Century Turkey Was Greek Christian Anatolia "Where the Sun Rises" and the Armenian Emirate - then it was invaded by the Venetian Jews who Deposed the Greek Orthodox Pope 2 of Constantinople who fled 2 Russia while the Buddhist and Alavi Shia of Ghenghis Khan actually restored order untill they were subverted by Sabaatai Zevi's "Donmer" followers from 1666 onward, 166 years after the Ottoman Empire Became Sunni without learning Arabic

Exactly. And yet here she is, happy to be a Sunni Muslim completely oblivious of her religion like so many others. "Isis has a distorted view" my ass. They're the Islamic reformists like the Wahhabis and salafis, wanting to go back to the true ways of their criminal prophet. Islam regressed the middle east since it's foundation, she should've read her pre-Islamic history better to realise all these great "Western" values were at some point part of her own culture as well.

+Arthur Mhoyan Could you actually explain Yezidism for me? As an Assyrian, I often try to advocate for the minorities of Mesopotamia and it find it difficult to explain what it is that Yezidis actually believe. The extent of what I believe it to be is that the world was created by God but supervised by Melek Taus, a peacock demon, that the Yezidis thank for its protection. Please advise.
