I love these small stream adventures. You really never know what's there and the scenery is gorgeous in this video. It also shows the youngsters that't there's more to fishing than a barrow-load of kit and a wood chip swim. Nice job lads.

7.62mm Blank ammunition. The grenade story seems likely, these days we have designated pits to throw them in, but in those days, lobbing them in a pond seemed a good idea. I’d imagine one detonated underwater and caused a crack in the dam. Its quite interesting how many of the MOD estates, ranges and exercise areas contribute towards wildlife welfare, as it preserves it by virtue of the fact that its too dangerous for people to encroach on. I’d love to see what the rivers hold on some of the ranges in Brecon in wales.

I just can’t imagine a shrapnel grenade blowing a hole in a 3/4 foot thick brick wall? Is it plausible?

it makes me feel so old saying this but, 40 years ago, when I was about 14 or 15, a pond near my parents house, all of a sudden had those shad of chub, in it. I would catch them on red worms mostly, some silver, some gold and some with the red fins. They were there only a couple years, then never caught another. In 2005, I went to Ufa, Russia on a backpacking/fishing trip and caught them there. The Russian locals fried them up. I tried them and they were not bad. So many of your videos are like a walk into my past. All my fishing buddies are dead now these years later. So I fish alone but as I do, I remember each and every cast, lure, bait, and hear them as if they were right next to me. Thanks guys for the posts. I dont feel so alone as I am enjoying your videos. Those shells you found are blanks. Means has powder for the boom but no bullet. The crimped ends is a giveaway. Proof that military trained in the area. The whole grenade story seems unlikely, but who knows. We wouldn't train with live grenades in the states unless we were at a range. Anyway, great vid as always! Keep em coming!

You guys are pure inspiration I am almost 70 and you remind me of when I used to fish unlikely places and find that life in water often throws up a surprise. Judging by the ponies this is in the new forest. I once read an account of an angler who fished these small streams and found large trout with cannibal tendencies. Keep these videos coming lads.

That was Awesome. What a location and those fish were absolutely amazing. Bare with me - but Lance Mountain was a pro skateboarder in the 80's and without anyone actually saying it to him he assumed his job as a pro skateboarder was to advertise and promote skateboarding as something kids should be doing. You two have absolutely nailed this philosophy. Top top stuff. You guys are the best. Hyped on this so much - thank you so much.

from my limited gun and ammo knowledge those look to be blank fire rounds that would suggest training and as they are are a rifle cartridge the army training story may not be so far fetched. You can tell the cartridges are blank fires by the crimped up nose, on a typical round there would be the actual projectile there but on these the end is just crimped over.

I always love your small stream and river adventures. It makes a change to see them instead of chasing Carp with all the usual hi tech stuff in lakes where everyone knows the fish stock. Places like that are wilder and much more interesting in my opinion and you still managed to extract a very nice Common too. Another great video C&A. Let's see more of the same throughout 2021.☺

Hi Carl and Alex, I’m ex military and just thought I’d try to help. The cartridges that you found are 7.62mm blank rounds. With regard to the damage to the dam, I doubt that a grenade would have the explosive power to demolish a dam, they’re for anti personnel use. Hi Guy's love your channel , in Australia Carp are considered vermin as they are an introduced fish. In Australia it is illegal to return a Carp to the water if you catch one. We fish for them and its not uncommon to catch 14-15 Kg carp, they are so stupid here you can catch them on bread. They are not a challenge to fish and most Aussies don't understand why it's so hard to catch them, when we can catch them all day long on bread , they are the easiest fish to catch here in Australis. Put a line with a piece bread in bingo a dumb Carp!
