Great looking guitar. I've been looking for it's natural predecessor, the Parker DF842, for years. Almost had one in Lime Gold but it was not to be on that occasion. That is a fab finish for a Majesty. EBMM should make a series in Neon Pearl finishes IMO. In the meantime, make mine a Monarchy in Regal Purple or the Enchanted Forest finishes 👍

I liked everything except the location of the neck pu. With it being so far away from the fretboard, I think it loses some of the oowiness. That's always my complaint with 24 fret configs. I want that neck pickup to be slammed as close to the 22nd fret as possible and with 24... well, you basically can't unless you put it somehow UNDER the fretboard. With it being well past the 24th fret, you get a more focused sound and not as much roundness. That's my opinion anyway. That split setup sounded great though and maybe that also is helped by the fact the coil in that neck pu is actually a good bit closer to where the middle coil of a strat would be. I'm sure I'd dig everything but I'd miss that hollow tone having that neck pu closer to the bridge. That deep metal tone was amazing though. Are the batteries only to drive the piezos and db boost or do the pu themselves have to have those? thx

I love the solid Majesty colors. I don't like the different colored shield they have on their other colors.

Obviously, I love the solid colors too! But I also really like the figured tops which go across the entire face of the guitar instead of just the shield.

However, they have certainly offered a lot of variety in their production model finishes over the years so there are tons of possibilities out there if you're not opposed to buying used and don't want their current production color/finish options.

Really love and totally jealous of that "lambo pearl" color!! I picked up my Artisan Majesty 7 several years ago, and really love that line of woods/colors as well. I love how they recessed the the switches on this design, and added the split/boost that we didn't have on previous JP guitars. While being my first neck-through guitar, I was surprised my JP6 had more sustain. This was my main until the 20th JP6 came out, adding some of those electronic combos.

@@PaulWarrenMusic Yeah I tend to play the JP6 more, in particular the 30th Anniversary, as it has the upgraded electronics and coil-split, giving more sonic options than the original JP6s. I don't know what took me so long to try them, but once I bought a 2013 JP6...they've been my main axe(s) and the Ibanez rarely get used. All those years of search for my perfect guitar and it's one you were already using during our sessions!! lol

You mean the 20th Anniversary model right? With the gold hardware? We all miss out on cool gear right in front of us many times. I'm a gear noob compared to so many of my friends. What sort of amp are you using now? I'm doing everything with the Quad Cortex. I sold my Axe III and really thought I'd miss it, but I haven't at all as the Quad is plenty for me.

Love mine, great sound plays great, and awesome craftsmanship. Picked it up used on eBay for 1950 and not a scratch or scuff to be found. 😀

Thanks! Did a few takes for multiple angles and I missed the switch during that one part. Good eye! Used the studio recording for more consistency in the sound, especially given that I missed that pickup switch, ha. Thanks for checking out the video!

Astonishing. Also the color is amazing, congratulations! I really hope Music Man will release a Majesty with passive pickups in the future to avoid depending on batteries (or maybe active pickups that don't need batteries?)

The batteries are not just for the piezzo. The magnetic pickups also need power to function.

I've got one of the original 2014 blue majesty's with the black shield. I always thought Majesty guitars were ugly as sin, mine included. But I LOVE how they play and want more, despite being Fugly. That was until I saw Lambo Pearl. HOLY SH!T. That color actually brings out the sleekness and the curves on that guitar and made me realize, it really is a beautiful guitar, they just make them ugly. Even the ones that have a Maple veneer on the top look great, but this one...... Wow.

I think you're right - this solid color really does show off the curves and interesting shape and really does make it more streamlined in appearance. Now we need a florescent yellow one! :)

Yes! EB/MM used this color on my Majesty and I checked with them and they ended up using the same paint for the Kaizen! The song in the video was just something I wrote for the video review. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

I don't play guitar and clicked on the video just for the colour of the guitar (it's my favourite and I think I'll go with a similar finish for a harp). I had no idea that they make electric guitars with pieco pickups. And it sounds quite great too.

You can opt for the $1500 Sterling Majesty X that are just as awesome. The X versions specifically. The lower priced Sterling majestys leave a lot to be desired.

I love my Hydrospace. I think it's safe to say that Ernie Ball has created the perfect guitar with the Majesty. I just hope that they don't overplay their hand with it like Gibson and the Les Paul.

Oh man, those Hydrospaces are simply amazing! I think with any guitar, you have to connect to it. This particular Majesty, I really bonded with so it gets the most use now. But that might not be the case with another Majesty. It just depends on its mojo. :)

Guitar looks awesome and great playing! So I have an EBMMM and I love everything about it...except compared to my Soloist with an FR, this tremolo system isn't awesome for the price. It really needs a locking nut pretty badly.

Thanks so much! I know the strings can be a bit tight in the nut sometimes. I just recently got some graphic lubricant to help with that. I haven't had too many issues but I understand the issue can definitely be there without the locking nut.

One of the reasons I went with the Majesty 8. I prefer a hardtail bridge. Don't get me wrong, trems are cool, but after 20+ years of playing Strats, I find I just don't use trem.
