CS1 will remain popular for atleast 2 or so years, or atleast until CS2 catches up in terms of mods. CS2 is currently hyped up as it just released and people are playding because it is new. But it cannot compare to furrent CS1.

I don't really understand why CS2 makes series like this less popular, the main focus of the series is what you build, not the game you build it in. So I'm really happy you're continuing the existing series, I love seeing the cities grow, and they look great as ever!

Yeah, it’s not what people who watch Acruas vids like, it’s what KZbin thinks they like (or rather what it wants people to like-in particular the “new hotness”). CS2 is still vanilla at this point, and let’s face it, vanilla is *not* why people watch Acruas videos. Something like Blender with city building plugins would be more like what people want to see in Acruas videos than a vanilla city builder game. You can’t model your own buildings in CS2 yet, and this sort of custom work is a hallmark of this channel. Custom bridges and such. You can’t even plop specific RICO in CS2 yet, and there aren’t even placeable props other than trees and bushes. Even setting aside things like bugs, the focus of CS2 is totally different than that of late-era modded CS1.

And that way CS2 and players moving over would hurt the popularity. But I personally watch this because I like what is being created. Same here! The proficiency with all the tools at our disposal is great, and it's great to see them used at their full potential! I feel like CS2 videos are not as entertaining for now (also cause I can't play it because of optimization as of now, I actually refunded it) and the lack of detail for now is a big part of the reason. 40 minute episode of Asturis!!!! Major hype. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is one of the best series ever done for CS (one of the others being Altengrad). No need to rush it for the current level that CS2 is at. I think everyone who watches these videos supports you doing whatever you’re the most passionate about. I haven’t even bought CS2 yet. Told myself I won’t until they finally release their mod client and we get a sense for if it will actually work.

This city is amazing and I would love to see where it takes you. But, if you don't want to do this one anymore, please consider finishing Altengrad. That is, I think I can say by far, the BEST project of CS1 ever done by anyone. Such detail, but even more, research of history, geography, politics, and the way people live here in central Europe. You should be so proud and we will be lucky to see you continue.

I've been consuming CS1 content since 2017, this is the best channel for modded CS1 on KZbin. I always start my Saturday morning with an Akruas video. Please keep going with CS1, the viewership won't disappear and might even return because CS2 is clearly far from being ready. Even when the bugs are ironed out, the performance issues rectified and modding enabled, CS1 still has 8+ of missing behind it. It's not going to vanish anytime soon.

A quick comment after listening to what you said about stopping the CS1 videos. I am really glad you'll continue for now at least. I really enjoy the Asturis episodes. It's been a year and I watched every single Asturis episode and it got to a point where the Asturis episode was almost an essential part of every other friday. I usually get ready with a drink or a snack and just enjoy the 30 minutes of me time (always better if they're longer). I really love seeing where this city and your imagination is going and I'd love seeing the city completed. The tram rides are awesome but I'm even more hyped for the final cut of the whole city. Showing off all the episodes in a combined setting. Thinking about Aurelia episode 104, 105 and 107. But no pressure. Just my hopes for this series.

I absolutely love your content, Akruas. And I want you to be happy with what you're making, and your CS1 content in Asturas and Altengrad both just blows me away. For what it's worth, I think the CS2 videos are just flooding the market with content that's just too much alike, I've almost stopped watching some of my favorite creators because they've moved on to CS2 content too soon, in my opinion. I just don't the the game is there yet, to be able to support tons of creators putting out content that's all the same milestones with the same content. Your content has always stood out so far above the other content that other creators produce, I don't want to see you struggling with a game you're not enjoying just to produce content. Your cities are works of art, and you have a talent at showing how you do what you do without making it monotonous or repetitive, but actually educational. The things you do in CS1 are simply not possible to be done yet in CS2. I almost religiously watch your videos when they come out, cause what you do with this is game is not only difficult and time consuming but also require a huge capacity computer, I have neither of the last two! This is my favourite series. I don't think I have ever watched a CS video every time it comes out. But when these release I cant click fast enough. I love you video style, your editing, your building, every thing!! On a side note: I couldn't agree more about CS2, the game holds so much potential and is going to be an amazing game, but currently its very frustrating without all the quality of life mods, and I find that I just can't be creative and let my visions come to life due to all the restrictions.

Asturis is the best city ever in cities skylines, so happy you are continuing it :) Your CS2 cities are ok, still better then most, but you really shine with mods, so wait for those, finish your CS1 cities first. In my opinion Infrastructurist is the best CS2 youtuber, his layout and attention to building type really makes his city look awesome, His CS1 stuff is too focused on looks, and silly layout of roads etc, So if you do another CS2 i would like you to follow that template of his CS2 stuff. You are the best detailer and put so much thought and real world focus on places like your plazas and skywalks etc as shown in this series, i'm looking forward to what you can do with CS2 mods. Any chance of a future Collab with Infrastructurist on a modded CS2 city, because that would be epic !! 😉

We are here for the city, and for you, personally, not just for the game. When I bought Cities Skylines 2, I refunded like 1 day after the purchase. The game was just in a really bad state, and it felt like it's not worth it. That also made me stop watching all the videos related, because I just could not get into it. I continued building my vanilla cities skylines 1 city, because it just felt more fun. I have had CS1 for 3/4 years maybe and have only managed 15 hours. I do not have any mods at all. For me CS2 vanilla will be a big improvement. I currently follow several builders in CS1 who are doing their own thing(s) [ie City Planner Plays, Few Candy, you, Sanctum Gamer, Dirty H, Biffa and many others] and I really like what they are doing. I am finding what people are doing in CS2 are good for someone like me to learn how things work, however for the people like you and the others I think it will be early next year before they get into their stride and start to let their imaginations run wild. I am more than happy to carry on following builds in CS1 as well as CS2 as long as amazing people like you are still putting stuff out there and inspiring us.

CS2 is going to need a lot of work, both from the modding community and the developers, to actually get anywhere near where CS1 currently is. I think a big part of the big drop of CS1 popularity is just people thinking it'll be a direct upgrade, and it'll likely level out again and spread between both as development continues. That said, even if it was a complete, perfectly functional direct upgrade, losing Asturis and all the incredible and unique sights in it would be a major loss. I know I'd miss seeing it grow. The pattern in the plaza opposite the cathedral reminds me heavily of a spiderweb, albeit with parts rotated in a way that wouldn't be seen in nature. It still carries that same vibe, though, and feels very organic beside the geometric straight lines and hard corners of the stairs and planters. You continuously manage to make this city a place I would so love to be able to visit and live in (or even just explore in first person, on those paths). I agree completely with the 'messy' look that the super-high-density buildings in some areas of the city have, where it's this sort of tangled set of buildings all fitting together in a distinctly unique way, as the facade on the outside of what is really just a whole block or more taken up by one gargantuan structure (though other structures in the city, of course, make the scale of these single-building blocks look tame). It's a logical progression of the concepts used to make cities, and supports a vastly lowered reliance on cars as well, which is something many places desperately need, between the ability to walk to somewhere else in a building, the public transit, and the vast walking path network in Asturis. Real cities could learn a lot from how dense it manages to be, merely by removing most of the roads that take up around half the footprint in most cities. On that note, the tracks provide a very interesting personality to the city, and really add to the layered effect. That one tram track that just curves straight over the top of the entire hospital, and the high speed rail with its bright white lights stabbing straight through the city's shape at night, in particular. I think a big hologram being directly over the landing pads on the hospital is probably a risk to the pilots who have to fly through it. Maybe the landing is automated.

re: The hospital having a main entrance. Hospitals do this regularly in real life even if different appointments or requirements have you entering through different ways. they typically will have one or two main areas connected to the main entrance, an emergency entrance, and then a bunch of side entrances for different appointments and the sort. or at least the ones I have been to are laid out like this. And like the main entrance isn't even the only entrance into the main area of the hospital (which typically seems to be a big open area with easy access to a bunch of different wards). in fact at one hospital I went to the main entrance was under construction, so a side entrance temporarily became the main entrance as it led into the same space.

I would like to see you finish out your current CS maps and projects. Really love this one. As for CS2 I'd like to see a little gameplay but I wouldn't expect you to take on a full map project, just mess around/getting accustomed with the game videos. CS2 is in a beta stage and I imagine some updates will occur that will cause you to lose maps. A lot of fresh games do that.

SO glad you're continuing your CS1 builds! Your work is so impressive and detailed, and there's no way anyone can achieve that in CS2 until years of mods and assets are made. I will always be astonished by your work, whereas watching someone play a new developing game just isn't all that exciting; I'm sorry more people don't watch your CS1 videos!

Fwiw I enjoy Asturis and Altengrad significantly more than any of the CS2 content I've been seeing.

CS1 is so much better than 2. I think the people are just disappointed of 2 and are not watching either 1 or 2 at moment because of that. I still appreciate your CS1 builds, they would never be possible with 2 at least not within the next 5 years or so. I'm happy you continue with your cities!
