So glad youre planning on doing many different Tram rides. After dozens of episodes of watching, it always feels like the biggest reward to see all these incredible structures complementing each other from a citizens perspective. In my opinion, the tram/train/bus (etc) rides are always one of the best parts of Your projects.

I at first thought it could be a desalination plant to supply the city with water. But would a facility like that be mixed in with residential is what I'm not so sure about.
@cameron224_ Жыл бұрын
The beach should also have some lights for at night. A lot of tropical places like Rio have stadium lights in place to allow people to use the beaches at all hours. Stadium lights might not work in Asturis but some kind of lighting to keep the beach open would make sense for an area this popular and dense.

With these lovely waterfront buildings you've made with PO (of which, you are the master), since Asturis is so futuristic, when colouring the rooftops I think you should opt for a lighter colour than charcoal grey, since we now know more about the science of dark roofs contributing to the heat of the building in the sun, increasing the need for energy-reliant cooling systems. Not a faux-pas, just an environmentally-friendly preference.
@melissaharris33897 ай бұрын
This is what I've been thinking since the beginning. Being in a tropical climate, there should be as little dark surfaces and as much shade as possible. Also, the city probably gets a fair amount of rain and might have a monsoon season, so shelters over the pedway are very necessary.
@Ilikefire2792 Жыл бұрын
You definitely need to connect the rightmost bridge's road to the highway via an compact interchange built into the mountainside in this area that connects to the intersection the rightmost road bridge currently connects to.
@Akruas Жыл бұрын
Interchange will happen, but slightly further, you'll see in ep. 34 probably.

This was a very needed city addition, and icant wait for the tram ride :) However id still would have built an underground parking lot close by the beach. Its just a game but if it would be real it would get more visitors to the beach. :)

Can't wait for the first person ride! One suggestion (if I may) would be to have a historical district somewhere-it would be really cool to encounter a slice of what Asturis "used to be like" nestled within all the futuristic developments.
@Akruas Жыл бұрын
Yeah I get that suggestion a lot. I really don't want to build that honestly. I just feel like I want to focus on the futuristic stuff, it's the whole point of the series to just explore some designs like that. I have Altengrad for the old stuff. Also, technically, I would have to enable both old and futuristic assets for the series, which would be a major problem. It is a major problem in Altengrad as it combines all the styles.

I think it would make sense to build a big TRAIN loop. Not necessarily to make them Turn around, but to give them more options for outside-map-connections. Gameplaywise it might Not be too important, but it would make Sense and also makes the city even more interesting. To further explain my point: (I’m thinking of the space elevator as being south of the main station, wood gardens to the east, todays project to the west) Of course its unlinely for trains from the east (Wooden Gardens, Damm) to want to get back East after stopping at Asturis‘ main station. But the trains from the north, west and south all run into the main station from the Same direction and are left with no other option but to go east. Thats kinda bad, for example getting from south to north should be an option. And since you didnt build a lot north of the main station yet, it shouldnt be big of a deal to ad options for that. It should be possible to run into the station from the western Train branch and get out of it on the eastern side of the Main station, but then Turn north. And the other way around. And so on. Turning south might be difficult to build, since you already built there, but i‘m sure you‘ll find a way. Does this idea make sense to you? Or did i miss something?
@Akruas Жыл бұрын
Main idea was that the central station is "the" central station of the entire broader region. That is why it has the high-speed railway mercilessly cutting mountains and building blocks. Asturis is the main gateway into the space elevator so the main hub is the mega main destination. So trains will stop there and it will be their final stop. No need for them to go elsewhere then. If people want to continue elsewhere, they would probably not go into Asturis at all. Or if they don't want to move radially around the city, they would use trams/light rail, as they are specifically made to be circular and connecting the outer train stations. Also gameplay-wise, there are technically 5 directions into the main station, only 1 (from southwest) terminates there. The western railway continues east but turns into the stacked bridge to serve the future industrial area, and the northern railway goes to the dams.

this section looked really nice. I honestly think it wouldn't be bad to live inside some of these buildings, or with a view that sees some of this part of the city. A couple questions; 1) is next episode 32, or is it first person and then 32? 2) when the city is done, do you plan to release the save file so that people can explore it themselves? I'd love to be able to look at things from some other angles (though who knows, maybe those angles will be covered with first person views or future tours).

I was thinking the same thing but maybe a bit further along, seems like there’s still a bit of flat land along the coast where this new build ends that would be perfect for a second super high density district to complement the first one across the bridges Basically that area in the top left of the shot at 25:50 in the cinematics

Whenever I place down fancy downloaded buildings I get hit with low land value and it gets abandoned. Often it doesnt matter how many schools, hospitals, parks etc I place - it will never raise land value enough to make the buldings function.
