China is now largest automobile exporter, more than Japan and Germany. It takes a whole industry supply chain to do that. Is that just cheap?

The part of cheap that no one comments on is the market segment it controls. Poor people can afford items on meagre budgets, and this allows for better management of income and development in a home.

Remittances by Indians abroad is also a major component of India's exports and forex earnings. At 125 billion dollars it accounts for about 12% of Indian export earnings. This is a unique Indian phenomenon and no other country has such a strong presence in this segment. Hence this should also be added in considering exports to understand the full picture. In addition there are FDI and FPI flows but they are related to investment activities and so need not come in this Matrix

The interesting part of the overseas Indians is the market for Indian items. Also emboldens the expansion of those markets as others are inveigled into it.

@lberhold9 ай бұрын
Honestly Germany for it's size is the most impressive, it's about 1/4 the USA population, and wasn't too far behind it. Of course Chyna is mostly smoke and mirrors, yes they make a bunch of cheap stuff, and probably the most cheap stuff in the world, but their numbers are likely 80% of Germany at best. Mexico and India are starting to eat Chyna's lunch, so they're probably closer to $1T or less in actual exports by 2025, though I'm sure they'll still claim over $3T.
@kamzer32419 ай бұрын
