Awesome video bro, glad you got to experience this. I was on float 14. Endymion and the Extravaganza are something you just can't put into words for someone who hasn't been to it. That ride into the Dome is something the riders look forward to all year long. It's like nothing else in the world.

Hey Kyle - I was born and grew up in New Orleans, and you just saw one of the most amazing examples of Mardi Gras -- The Endymion parade has always been one of the most spectacular, with thousands of $$ spent on costumes and "throws" -- the big bash in the Superdome, however, is not what was common for most Mardi Gras Krewes in the 20th Century -- most Krewes held a formal ball, and it was by invitation only, not something you could pay to attend. In all the years I lived in New Orleans, I only once got to go to one Mardi Gras Ball - and that only because my mom worked for someone who was a member of that particular organization; I did have to wear a tux and it was quite the experience, but far more traditional than the great fun of the Endymion extravaganza. I've seen a TON of parades over the course of my time there, including Endymion, and the energy of the parades are such a blast -- so glad you got to experience it all!!

Just for some extra context, that area you referred to as "the pit" is actually The Captains Tables. That area is reserved for family,close friends, and esteemed guests of the Captains of the krewe.
