I was heading on vacation, and to my surprise and delight, I saw old Euclid Terex dump trucks from the 70s, literally frozen in time. The trucks were in excellent condition equipped with powerful V12 Detroit Diesel engines and Allison transmissions and have been standing in the same spot for 30 years, leaving travelers in awe. There were other machines too, old graders and loaders, but these trucks took my breath away.

I ran these in the Seabees in PR while crushing rock in 1980. We thought a good day was crushing a 100 ton. And then i ran them in South Bethlehem NY at a union rock quarry. You either had a automatic or a standard. Loud ..... YES.

Great machines, a quick look over and a bit of TLC and good to go again. Just one problem, they don’t make operators like they used too.

I drove a terex T24 cabless many years ago scraper drivers won't drive them unless they have a fully functioning cab with aircon now a day's, but saying that health and safety has also stopped the old way of building Anything now.

@@mickbaker2483 Cheers Mick, I was Heavy Plant Fitter in the UK for many years and TS24’s were still being used on civils work, we maintained Scrapers in the field and did repairs as well such as Engines and Transmissions out alongside servicing and repairing all the other types of Plant on the same job. I don’t see any company working like this today and as a consequence the Fitters and operators aren’t as good so the job takes longer and is way more expensive. When I started operators knew as much as Fitters and would be paid to maintain their own machine to a point and they knew how to get the best out of their Machine without any Electronics etc. Great days.

@@paulnolan1352 Hi Paul this is where I started my working life a gress monkey on heavy plant back in the 60's we had machinery on gas pipelines across north Gloucestershire south west Warwickshire and Worcestershire that's where I learnt my skills, up at 5am check the T24 or 22RB by 6am to start work, the 22's i only put them on lowloaders to be night moved from one section to another as you said operator's knew as much as you guys on the spanners but we had too, your in a field miles from any road accesse you had to get to the mechanics then we the operators would muck in and help to get your machines working asap because we were losing money too, they were the hard but very good day, soaking wet one day burning in the sunshine the next what ever happened with this being rained off if it was wet there was a D9 or 10 to give you a push you never upset the dozer operator's because they could give you a very ruff ride pushing you.

Very cool find! I relate it to a barn find! I remember Euc's from the mid to late 1950's when P.F. Law was constructing Highway #3 from Christina Lake BC to Castlegar BC. The rock trucks were 30 tonners.

The 12V71 Detroit's will need the fuel pumps servicing to stop them running away when there started but apart from that the Euclid trucks look cared for and 992C looks the same as the truck's cared for a good service and away you go you have half your equipment to go to work.

Somewhere in Europe? The meter reading 5,470hrs in the dump truck cab, not a lot of work done. Despite its age the Caterpillar 992C front end loader would be worth some money even today, in working order. If that equipment was sitting by a busy road in Australia it would be vandalised, parts stolen and covered in graffiti by now.

@@GearWheelTech This is a great video, thank you for this. They're in such good condition most likely as its remote where they are. It's a pity they can't be sold or donated and refurbished. That one smaller yellow-beige dump truck at the end of the line of Euclids, looks it's made by some Baltic country or possibly Ukrainian or Russian. For sure that Cat 992C with the D348 V12 engine of 550 HP, is in very good condition. The DD 12V71 and Allison automatics are an unbeatable combo, all very reliable!

@@petermalanchuk8210 Thank you so much for such a kind comment. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw these green beauties by the road, standing in such good condition. It's like they've been in a time capsule. As for the last truck, I didn't know which is the model. I think someone mentioned in the comments that it's from an Italian manufacturer. But it's really a shame they've been sitting out in the open for 30 years.
