I'm surprised you didn't include the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist, where nearly 3,000 tonnes of maple syrup was stolen, worth around nearly 18 million dollars. Pretty fitting that our greatest heist was stealing maple syrup. (It was because the Quebec maple syrup companys rules were too harsh on the producers of the syrup, and the syrup was sold on a black market to a better company in New Brunswick)

I get paranoia is no joke, but the fact you have the knowledge and discipline to commit to planning and rehearsing a heist for months and finally pulling it off, just to dump all of your evidence in a forest is possibly the dumbest thing ever. So about the D.B Cooper case, in 1980 a portion of the ransom money was found washed up in the Columbian River in Washington. All of the bills had their serial numbers documented before it was handed off. All in all about $5,800 worth of bits and pieces were identified of the $200,000. That's a pretty large amount of the cash to just wash up on shore, so some believe that when he jumped out of the plane mid flight, he didn't actually survive and was likely eaten by wildlife. Although that's speculation as he could have just hid the money in a terrible location. It should also be noted that if he did die on impact, the area searched was the wrong location. As he likely would have jumped out much earlier than when the crew realized he was gone.
