Your water lillies remind me of the water gardens at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. I have a lot of fond memories of trips to Longwood and try to visit at least once a year, but I've only been out when the lillies were blooming once. It is so magical and some of my favorites among the photos I've taken were of the lillies flowering.

Do you not top off any of your lillys with gravel?

Only really do that to prevent certain fish from eating the base of the plant. In my ponds I don't have the specific fish to worry about that
