BLOCKBUSTER Video. The most massive popular Video rental Store of all time. It seemed like every town had one, sometimes more than one! But this epic chain with over 9,000 locations in multiple countries is extinct now... Except for one last survivor! With the closure of stores in Alaska and one last survivor in Australia, this Bend, Oregon store is now the LAST BLOCKBUSTER ON EARTH. Come inside and relive a part of Blockbuster history and 90s (and early 2000s) history in Bend, Oregon!
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed the video! Tap the bell icon above 🔔 to get notifications from me! Never miss an adventure!

I loved blockbuster as a kid! I remember every Friday being allowed to rent a movie and a video game for our PS2. I was so small then so I’d always ask the employees what game they liked. I got to play a wide variety of games because of that!

I remember walking about 3 blocks to Blockbuster during a blizzard because they were the only place open with at least something like food. I rented some movies and did get that popcorn bucket before going home to hide out from the snow.

Knowing that one last Blockbuster remains is what reminds me of what little there is left of my childhood. The memories are still there but even those are becoming more of a sadness as time goes on. A representation that nothing lasts forever and we need to cherish those moments as much as we can. Long live Blockbuster!

He makes a very good point about the benefits of having large amounts of random movies just displayed all around you in order for you to make more random choices and be exposed to things you may have otherwise not been looking for. I found most of my favorite movies that way. I don't like algorithms automatedly guessing what it thinks I should see.

John Oliver bought several Russell Crowe props from Russell Crowe himself, including his jockstrap from Gladiator, and sent them to the Blockbuster in Anchorage to help stop them from going out of business. Unfortunately when that failed the Alaska Blockbuster sent all the props except the jockstrap to the Bend, Oregon Blockbuster! Check it out here en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell_Crowe%27s_jockstrap?wprov=sfla1 and search John Oliver Blockbuster in KZbin if you haven't seen it! Love your adventures and have been subscribed for a long time :)
