I am here from the future with full knowledge of what happens next for this band. I originally saw this when the Nothing Matters video came out and I was searching for anything I could find on TLDP. Lou, thank you so much for this amazing time capsule of one of my current favorite bands and the other early videos you have up there. Anyone ever hear why they changed the title of the song from “Leningrad“ to “Cesar“?

Haha. The future is an interesting place to view this from. I was very excited to discover them just ten days prior to this performance, and couldn't then see than not blowing up huge. Indeed they were. I think Dinner Party was already taken when their legal team looked into it. I think a supergroup moniker for a collection of artists doing jazz and hip hop in the states. Launched in 2020.

I’m not always concerned with lyrics unless they have a poetical aura. From I what I can hear so far, I want to know every syllable!

From that first encounter with them, the line that struck me was ‘when I was a child, I never felt like a child. I felt like an emperor’ I can totally visualise a six year old Abi making grandiose proclamations in her room to her assembled soft toys whilst planning her dazzling future. Also the wrenchingly poignant lyrics of on your side.
