Happy to see your back at it! My favorite Game Boy Color game would have to be Pokémon Crystal. I always wanted there to be a remastered version of Mario Land 1 and 2 in color for GBC, such a missed opportunity.

Gameboy Color is pretty underrated ^^ so many good RPGs that never made it to America. Love the sound of a good'ol Gameboy game, and the chiptune music.

Hey glad to see you back!! GB Color was awesome really, especially if you had lived through the beginnings of the old GB... how far could they go with it, great times. My absolute favorite has to be Zelda DX, the recolored version was the stuff of dreams being a huge fan of the original. It's wild to know that the Game Boy Color lasted only four years (1998-2002), yet it made a gigantic impact by pushing the limits graphically and aurally for an 8-bit Nintendo handheld.

Yea the gbc was my first handheld with Pokémon yellow. 3 years later I had the gba but great idea on them making it backwards compatible.

Shantae and the pirates curse on the 3ds is really good. The original on the game boy color is really hard to go back to cause you can only see like a inch in front of you, the newer ones are definitely way better. It’s another metroidvania with all sorts of back tracking but really ain’t to bad cause you get a map

I actually never had a Gameboy until the Gameboy color came out. I didn’t like the fact that the og wasn’t in color so I had a GameGear, which looked awesome, but was more limited on games than the GB. I also got Mario Bros. Deluxe with my lime green Gameboy Color, and I played it SO much on road trips that I could beat the game in a few minutes over and over again. Not long after, I got Pokemon Red, my first exposure to Pokemon, and I loved it played the heck out of it too. Those were the only games I had but I loved them dearly and I still cherish them and that old green Gameboy.

Hey one thing you missed about Shantae, because it released so close to the GBA, it actually has GBA exclusive features. This includes a new color pallete when you play on the GBA due to the less bright screen and an exclusive tinkerbat transformation.

Erin nice to see u back didnt have the gamboy till advance came out then i traded it in for the DS whicĥ had the Gameboy slot with it. Its kind of sad u have the while entire handheld eco system unless there ported to the switch so many games that u can easily miss out on

I really liked the first Shantae game, but it's pretty janky; all of the titles that came after it fixed everything up really well, though, so I'd recommend any of them. As for favorite Game Boy Color game, I'd probably have to go with Deja Vu 1 & 2; it's the only time the second Deja Vu game left any kind of computer system, and the new visuals look great! If ports don't count, it's tough to say, but I think I might go with Ganbare Goemon: Hoshizorashi Dynamites Arawaru, which is a fairly standard Platformer overall, but the Goemon games are usually pretty solid, and this is no exception.

Shantae is a pretty good game and amazing series. The original is a bit rough especially early on having no health but gets easier as you go. Not sure if I'd ever bother to replay it but always nice to see where a series gets its start. I'm surprised I've never bothered to play that dbz game but then we did have the legacy games and others on the gba plus all the Ps2 games coming out back then. A lot of the old ones did use card systems. Legend of the ssj on the super famicom did and I really loved that game as a kid. I think I'll check out this gbc one and see how it is.
