the death loop isnt a part of GER. just the Death part. the loop is the side effect that happened when KC`s 2 abilities clashes with GER. which has the ability to control events and destiny. and now KC`s soul is trapped for eternity in a Schrodinger's box. which is the KC`s first ability the time/experience erase. while seeing and feeling how he dies with the future sight.caused by GER with 100% chance of death happening. KC has the powers to take advantage of the future, and ensure said future he chose. GER can literally create a future. he can even add statistically impossible events and make them happen at will and unconsciously as well. but yeah it's basically a godlike power.

I tried to somehow explain the GE Requiem ability (ik this comment is joke pls no woosh me): GER changes the "requiem" moment (The moment where Diavolo said first thing) of original timeline to different (Diavolo said another thing) so basically the KC worked properly and showed the true moment of future in the ORIGINAL timeline where KC was placed but GER changed the timeline and prevented that moment. After that he looped the Diavolo's timeline and changed his fate at the "requiem" moments which are his death moments (When Diavolo dies he moving to the different timeline where he didn't die yet and so on). So now Diavolo's timeline is infinite line made out of different moments which end in the moment he dies and then continuing at another timeline where he didn't die yet. So the Golden Experience Requiem's true ability is to change the timelines, cut them and loop them.

To the people who say that “Ger doesn’t cancel attacks! He cancels abilities like diavolo’s time skip!” No he doesn’t, he canceled diavolo’s attack, to make you understand this, Diavolo’s power is that when he skips time, he cannot interact with beings and objects that are in the time skip, when diavolo skips time, he stops it so he can attack his opponent, so right when you saw diavolo about to punch giorno, you could see the effect of the time skip stopping, so this proves that GER can cancel attacks, not just abilities.
