They were caught out because they were trying to go for an objective at the bottom side of the map. Since they were already 10k gold ahead, they were confident they could win. @shinjimirou9283 жыл бұрын
@@InstalockLoL Yeah sadly it was really all on Faker's shoulders to carry most of the time during 2017. That's why the meta against SKT 2017 was hard camp Faker or focus down Faker in teamfights because often the SKT at the time panicked when he was already taken down and hesitate to retaliate or regain composure to resist. The Malzahar spam by crown was a planned strategy to shutdown Faker. Malzahar at the time wasn't really the top tier meta pick but it had one purpose, target one carry. By sacrificing your mobility, efficiency and burst damage to roam around the map. They decided to capitalize on the effectiveness of how the Malzahar can shutdown one carry by constantly making follow ups on that ulti or silence. We knew at the time botlane was struggling, toplane was neutralized, jungle was neutralized if they cant properly play around Faker. The problem at the time there werent enough bans to get the malzahar. Faker wont play Malzahar on pro play finals, it's a major problem but they believed that the other signature meta champions of SSG were more important to ban. SSG just simply had superior team coordination than SKT's One carry reliance at the time.
@guimauves63743 жыл бұрын
@@shinjimirou928 i kinda agree, crown has always been inferior to faker and faker always gapped him whenever they played against each other, but by sacrificing his presence on the map with the malz pick just to lock down faker in lane and teamfights, it was just devastating considering 2017 worlds was bang's worst performance at an international tournament

@@shinjimirou928 Very true. I have been a long time Faker fan and you cannot imagine how angry I was at the Malzahar cancel SSG did 3 games in a row, in fact even to this day I'm still somewhat angry at Crown for that lol. Honestly respect to Crown for knowing his limits and sacrificing his ego for his team and also doing what he's supposed to on Malzahar, but I still feel bad for Faker and I got really annoyed at the time when some people tried to drive the narrative that Faker was no better than Crown since he couldn't do anything against Crown's Malzahar. 2017 SKT was really just a sinking ship that was miraculously dragged to the finals by Faker's godlike performances: Huni had flashes of brilliance but was volatile and either carried or fed, Peanut was getting out jungled often and a shadow of the great jungler that he was the season before going to SKT, Bang was quite literally inting his face off, Wolf also suffered because of Bang's underformances and SKT bot always lost lane; with a lesser mid laner they would have lost to Misfits in quarter finals. I'm sure everyone remembers semi finals where Faker picked Galio 5 games in a row against RNG and made the champion look like the most op character in the entire game doing literally everything to pull out a 3-2 victory, people even started memes about RNG ptsd banning Galio every game. Unfortunately SSG was possibly the best team at the time in terms of team play and also simply outclassed SKT in individual matchups outside of mid. Faker's 2017 SKT worlds run was probably the most dramatic LoL worlds story ever, even ending with the greatest player the game had ever seen breaking down in tears in the end and the crowd chanting his name. In many ways it is really a perfect parallel to Lebron Jame's Cleveland Cavaliers' NBA playoffs run in 2018, with an even more dramatic finals ending.

I have to agree with that, the majority of players wouldn't think of flashing in to use a non-ult ability, would normally be a very ballsy move. I'm happy that Ambition got this championship but that 2017 worlds finals still hurts to watch as an SKT Fan since 2015, also I still believe they could have won in 2017 if they had bengi on the team, he may not be the best jungler in the world but he was the best jungler SKT ever had.
@johnglaicianlandicho17752 жыл бұрын
Faker never won Worlds without Bengi anyways. Whatever the team had with Bengi in the Jungle position needs to come back

finally someone who has a clue of how skt won that fight it's the tremor sense
@peinlegacy33363 жыл бұрын
They saw them already going towards Baron side and assumed that SKT was there to put vision so they pushed the wave. Tremor sense won't help if SKT won't move. When they pushed the wave, they saw a glimpse of Faker and that's when they decided to back off and the rest is history.

But fakers performance against misfits, was arguably the hardest carry performance from a mid at worlds, so not that shockwave was not the last of their magic. also they were decent in season 9.
@PasserBy8693 жыл бұрын
Faker hard carried the next series also against RNG. That iteration of SKT looks like a wreck at 2017 worlds, but somehow Faker dragged that team to finals. He was at his peak, and it was unfortunate that SKT couldn't cap 2017 with another worlds title.

Let's be honest here. SKT T1's 2017 Jackets is the best Jacket to be worn on Worlds Stage. The Red isn't overbearing at all and has the right amount of tone. Plus the simplistic lines across the jacket is awesome.

Captain Flowers is right about that call. We can always see great initiations 5 man CCs but it doesn't matter if you can't take down the whole team. Plus, Faker already recognized that Wolf initiated that team fight. So no reason to be sad.

Faker did great, but it shows you how much he overshadows his teammates, like Wolf had that engage. He made the play, Faker followed up sure. But nobody was screaming Wolf.
@trh3xa174 Жыл бұрын
Faker gave credit to Wolf. But even then, like Flowers said, it was Faker that made their Health bars go Red so it's him who gets the "most" credit. Cause Spica is the prime example of this, there's that 9 man sleep he did with Lillia vs GenG. in Worlds 2020 then like last week FQ vs DIG where Spica landed a 5 man amumu ult but nothing happened.

People saying Wolf was the real highlight are wrong, it wasn't Wolf or Faker, the real highlight was Huni. Wolf flashing in to knock them up is jus obvious, it's the only thing he can do. But Huni could have lost them that fight if he ruptured or Ulted etc, him flashing in and silencing them all that very second, as fast as he did, was the real highlight. They 100% get away without that silence.

I remember when I was playing with my friend (duo), I'm using corki and he's using morgana. 60mins into the game, zero turrets and inhibitors 3 man down on our team, and 5 full health guys rampaging into our nexus. I just said to morg, "give me 2 seconds to collect this package, initiate however you want and we'll win this. My jump was just so perfect with his 5 man root that they didn't get knocked back when I jumped, everyone melted and I just literally cried lmao they instantly surrendered. This was back then in season 5-6 if I remember correctly, gold div but really a highlight of my teenage gaming days.
