After being outvoted regarding whether or not Anakin Skywalker would be trained and then witnessing Anakin destroy the Jedi Order & aid in a galactic war that ended countless lives, Yoda wasn't going to make the same mistake with Ben Solo. He was not going to let another galactic war happen. Yes this is the same motivation as Luke's in the movie, but Yoda was willing to kill Palpatine and Anakin/Darth Vader in both RotS and RotJ. He saw no good remaining in them and was willing to kill them to prevent further harm to the galaxy. Luke however bet everything on the belief that his father would do the right thing after decades of being evil, igniting his lightsaber should not have been his first instinct when sensing the darkness in Ben. If it had been like 10th time he sensed darkness after talking with Ben and continuing to train him, then it'd make sense. "I'm not getting through to Ben, if something isn't done soon then it might be too late to prevent another war, maybe he should be killed....oh no, no nonono, how could I have even considered that?"

So true. The man who refused to fight his father, even after he murdered billions of people, would never have attacked his defenseless nephew. Smh.
@darkwolf44342 жыл бұрын
You forget that after Luke kept saying that there's still good in Vader he later almost killed Vader when one of the ones that he loved was threatened. He barely could control himself. In TLJ he saw a vision of him killing EVERTHING he loved, also visions are more powerful than just threats as we could see in Episode 3 that was the biggest reason for Anakin's fall.
@mcvenne89352 жыл бұрын
@@darkwolf4434 You misremember the scene. He refused to fight his father and threw his lightsaber away after he lost control and almost killed him. And I think Vader blowing up a literal planet was much bigger proof of just how lost he was than a vision. But he still believed in him. Luke was grandmaster and he would know that visions can be changed. He was wise enough to not kill his sister's son just like that. He would NEVER think someone who hadn't done a single act of evil, who hadn't yet turned to the dark side, who was his student and a member of his family was not redeemable.

@@mcvenne8935 Which was when he realized what he had just done, just like he did in TLJ. That's my point

@@darkwolf4434 Firstly, my tablet bugged before I finished my message so you should probably reread my previous answer before coming back to this one. And secondly, he learned from that mistake. In that moment, he learned who he didn't want to be and who he truly was. He would never have done something like that, as I explained in my previous response which I encourage you to reread because seeing your answers makes me want to laugh. If you like the sequels, great for you. But Luke acted completely out of character in that scene. You must at least see that. On that note, I have a life to live. I'm sure I haven't convinced you and you won't convince me, so please don't reply because my tablet is bugging like crazy and answering is super difficult. Let's just leave ourselves with our different opinions and call it a day. Goodbye! 😊
