If you have the interest, there are videos about Metal Gear Solid 2 circulating that explain in detail what post modernism is, and how that game was a briliant ruse to trick or even punish people who pre-ordered on the basis that it had to be good. People didn't realize how deep that game went for many years and only recently was it more widely accepted. As OP said however, no matter that ep7 brings, for this to be true means Lucas squandered what could have been his most memorable work, all because he didn't have the courage to see it through, and that makes me kinda pity him. Towards the end of the high republic, some Sith masters trained secondary Sith apprentices like assassins, and warriors. This is a theory concerning an (unconfirmed) abandoned plot thread peppered with quite a bit of speculation and straw grasping concerning the previous trilogy and has no bearing on the new trilogy that's coming out. In the trailers and the character designs and the use of practical effects, the sense I get is that TFA is love letter to the OT and not some attempt to redeem the Prequels or reconcile them with the OT. It's remotely possible that Snoke is Binks and that Abrams has professed hatred for the character as a means to confuse us and obfuscate a major plot twist, but I highly doubt it and will eat my hat if it turns out to be true.

Another level of brilliance hero imo is that Jar Jar is a Gungan, and as we saw in episode 1 when Bos Nas was resisting the mind trick, Gungans are resistant to jedi mind control/mind reading. Honestly, this must’ve been real at some point. I think I recall an interview with George Lucas where he says something like “Jar Jar is the key to all of this”. Could’ve been a joke, but it doesn’t seem so. I think the most crucial part is Jar Jar’s smile in Qui Gon’s funeral. It’s important to note his CGI movement is specifically intentional. George Lucas saying Jar Jar is the key to all of this, isn’t about the actual character’s importance but rather the fact he was the first full CGI character in StarWars and if they got him down then doing the CG for the rest would be easier. They’re quite literally going over the story boards as he’s saying it. He’s the key to everything since the whole reason why the prequels came out way after the original trilogy was because the technology wasn’t there at the time yet so getting Jar Jar done would be a key milestone in the creation of the film and the following ones.

Found Jar Jar super annoying back in the day, but being older and if not wiser at least more chill, I found him only a minor distraction when rewatching it recently. Although he is way more fun when looking through the Darth Jar Jar lens. Would’ve loved to see the ”true prequel” trilogy with Darth Jar Jar unmasked as the true mastermind.

This is literally my favorite film theory of all time, it's just too awesomely legit to not be legit. XD it's basically like Jar Jar is Moriarty from Sherlock, he's the evil mastermind behind the entire plot of the Jedi's demise even though he seems like just a minor character. He lays low out of suspicion by acting dumb and clueless while actually positioning himself in key points of the storyline to sway major decisions and events involving important characters, using the dark side of the force, to ultimately control the outcome of the entire galaxy. Jar Jar is actually one of the most powerful evil beings in the galaxy and almost no one suspects it. That is the real beauty of it. I legit don't even hate Jar Jar anymore

There are also little hints like Jar Jar smiling as he enter the hose where Anakin lives he tilts his head and does a sideways smile, he does the same kind of smile when fixing the pod racer and there’s a theory when on the Ship when R2D2 slapped him and after he left Har Jar broke the hyper drive someone even put up a map of where the hyper drive is and it was exactly where Jar Jar was. There is a good video called evil Jar Jar moments where more evidence is pointed out.
