I watched this as well as read the many comments from folks saying they did the same, went fishing and finally made a good catch/multiple catches, and sure enough I can now say the same. Snagged my first catch with my 1/2oz standard jig, a 4.3lb bass yesterday. Was stoked. Thanks for the great tips!

I've recently started fishing a 5 to 6 acre pond near me. I've caught a number of 1lb and less bass but nothing big. I knew there had to be at least a 5 pounder in there but there was no real discernible cover I could see. There was however a wooden depth pole in the middle of this small bay. It was 13' deep. I had just seen this video so I tied on the exact same jig and craw you had, threw it right to the pole and let it sink. That bass grabbed it and took off before I even realized it was on there. It was more luck than skill on my part but I reeled in a 4.5 lb largemouth. Not bad for Colorado. The 5 pounder is still in there waiting for me though. I definitely need a stronger rod and heavier line. A medium light spinning rod and 8lb fluorocarbon isn't going to cut it day to day. Thanks for another great bank fishing video.

Black/blue jig with a purple or some kind of junebug trailer is MONEY. 1/4 oz is also a pretty sick weight too if your body of water is super pressured as the slightly slower fall rate can get the bite when the 3/8 just doesn’t

Great video Tyler. Always used the Texas rig most of the time. After seeing this video I am going to give the jig a try.

Good hook set on these fish I always shake the ole head when I see a dude crank a dink completely to the bank off a hook set. Shows you care about these fish and not the shot of your bent rod. Respect.

At what point do you replace your jig? I caught a couple today on a new strike king pumpkin colored jig and I noticed the paint is coming off the head already. Not sure how much of a difference that makes.

With not having craw heavily where I live, I've found medium tubes and curl tail worms or grubs work well too

Nice! You don't have to have crawfish where you live though to throw a craw style lure. It's just an enticing presentation to a bass, regardless of what they are eating

I’m curious why you don’t recommend braid for jigs? I figured it’s lack of stretch would help with hook sets.

Cause most of the time I’m fishing in clear enough water that a non-clear line will cause fish to not eat it. Believe it or not, Fish can really see line, especially braid

My favorite way to learn new lures is wait for a day when bassforcast says it's a good day for that lures and then go and only fish that one lure all day and then once you learn that lure yoy know what works and when you want to throw its

I use 10lb test for my fishing in ponds and the Erie canal. I am planning on switching but for now seems pretty decent for me. Just have to be cautious when reeling in bigger game. I do use jigs by the way to. Good video though. Much appreciated.

Awesome video Tyler! I have 5 jigs but never fish them as a bank angler. I will try your advice for sure. As it is fall here in South Africa i think your advice WILL work for sure.
