I was not a fan of Scade touching Uhtred. Gisela was absolutely flawless to me. Scade is an interesting character but never trust her. I like shows that show marriages and unions work regardless of distractions so I'm proud of Uhtred. Whenever Scade came on screen I would say in my head 'oh boy, here's this evil slut.'

There are some really fun behind the scenes videos on KZbin that would be great to see you react to, there's one scene that I know Nikki will especially love, it's Uhtred and one of his crew on horseback but they both start to copy what the horses are doing such as nibbling eachothers necks and shaking their heads it is so sweet and funny but the one I'm most hoping you do is a day in the life of Eliza Butterworth (Alfreds wife) she is so much fun dancing and messing about all while in costume. Just shows what an amazing actress she is I suppose. Also she is only either 1 or 2 years older than the actress that plays her daughter! Thankyou so much for doing this show & for the work you both put in to keep us all entertained. Blessings from the UK. Destiny is all!

Steven if you get to see this can you tell me Have you ever watched a show called Sharpe? Or any varients such as Sharpe rifles? I ask because I believe you would really enjoy them they are all set in the Napoleonic wars and are written by the same man who wrote the Last Kingdom books. Each episode is feature length and the main character Major Sharpe is played by the same actor as Ned Stark. I know you probably wouldn't do reactions but I believe you would really enjoy them in your own time & a lot of them are free to view on KZbin. I just checked and if you search 'Sharpe' a play list comes up with 17 episodes each one around an hour and 40 minutes long.

Hello. What is your channel rated? For example; PG-13? I ask this because there have been several instances when i watch or other times listen to your reactions with my 9 year old granddaughter in the room or nearby. It is really only these moments that i catch the (language swagger, fir lack of bettet words at the moment. The "B" word or the "F" word being used by mostly Nicky. Lol. I tell my granddaughter that Nicky is just play acting in front of the camera. That they both are for filming. Which is true right? Anyhow, just wondering if there is a genersl rating system that you use for the channel? I suppose it depends on the show right? Thank you.

Athelfled inadvertantly saved her own life when she killed Seigfried last season. She ran him through in battle, in full view of her husband. And now Athelred, like most bullies when their victims stand up for themselves, is scared of her. Where before he was physically abusive to her, after seeing her kill a man, he now does nothing but impotently throw insults at her. He even has her staying at her own estate, to help ensure she doesn't kill him, so incidently, she has a better life.

Show gets better and better with each episode. Such a sensational series, the most underrated on Netflix.
@edwardmortimer86432 жыл бұрын
It really did….as much as I enjoyed the first two seasons, once Netflix took over in s3, the production quality of the show just skyrocketed. I wish Netflix had been producing this from the drop, the battle of Ethandun is so iconic in the books and while it was good in the show, it could’ve been so much better. Just nitpicking on my part cuz I do love this show.

The first two seasons were produced by BBC but the show became too expensive for them and Netflix stepped up to buy and continue the show. That is the big why of the more blood and gore. That said, the books were pretty violent so the show is too. As to Skade, I felt the same way when I met her in the books and the series --- fascinated and hated her at the same time.

I liked Gisla and Uhtred together so much. So sad when I saw she died. And no, nobody really liked Skade. We found her interesting, but definitelly not the type of woman for Uhtred. Also, Uhtred would not have cheated ever on Gisla. The thing with his first marriage, he was young, he felt betrayed by his wife (no support whatsoever with what he had to go through with Alfred, his punishment, somebody else getting recognition for what he has achieved). And she was also scolding him in that moment. Of course what he did after was also wrong, but with Gisla everything was perfect and Uhtred is way more mature than in season 1.

(No Spoilers, just a tiny bit of history and some trivia about the books) Responding to Nikki's question at the end, like in the books, I thought she was a beautiful but crazy psicopath. Never liked her, was hoping all the time for her to die. Btw, did you know the show is based on a series of 13 books? Seasons 1-5 adapted the first 10 books, and there will soon be a movie to adapt the last 3 and wrap up the series. The books are great by the way, I read them all. They're written in first person (with Uhtred writing his own story as he's older), so you are in Uhtred's head most of time, and laughing all along because his thoughts and comments are so witty, sarcastic and funny. The humor is very present in the books, like in the show. He's a real hilarious a-hole. LOL And responding to Steven's question, Æthelflaed is a super important historical figure such as Alfred and Edward, the king's children will play a great great part in future episodes to make Alfred's dream of an England become true.

The real life Hastein was actually a very prominent viking who went on a long adventure with Björn Ironside, they raided into Frankia and the Mediterranean. In the show “Vikings” his role was taken over by Halfdan, also he was the one who really pulled the whole “I’m dying let me in to your church so I can surprise raid you” move that Ragnar pulls in the same show. That happened in a place called Luna, which Hastein thought was Rome lol after all that he joined in on the raids in England, got even richer, dug some roots and dipped. Dude lived a crazy life!

I think Uhtred continues to be unfairly judged as chasing all the ladies… he did his whoring thing to ‘forget’ or whatever after Iseult was killed, but he doesn’t run after anything in a skirt. He and Mildreth’s relationship had fractured already, but it also seemed that Iseult and he had some kind of ‘spiritual’ (?) connection. It’s worth remembering that there are some major time jumps in this show. And his reaction to Skade really is more along the lines of being wary of her and her powers and the fact that she cursed him. PS: I too despised Skade from the beginning!

The whole thing with his first wife, I definitely agree to the points where Uhtred went wrong. Leaving her and his child. But of course I understand both sides, and where he was mentally and everything going on. He needed to leave for himself unfortunately. It wasn't entirely wrong of him. He didn't expect his child to die and you can tell he was hurting and felt that pain when he found out. He was being uncaring and inconsiderate when he brought the witch home for sure. But I always appreciated that he never was unfaithful to his wife, in that sense, until it was over. Only until some time after when that whole relationship was over, did he become intimate with her. So I feel like it's alot of aspects to consider. The whole situation was difficult. I felt angry at both uhtred at times, and his wife at others. She also had a hand in driving him away. Though it wasn't the intention of either of them to hurt the other. It just wasn't a relationship that was meant to last. It wasn't a true love for sure, though there was a level of love and caring. It just finally came to its end. And uhtred obviously had a much longer path to follow. And still follow. So even though I also felt upset and angry at times like Nikki, I also knew my anger wasn't solely pointed at Uhtred at all times. And Uhtred keeps enough faith in people that we know he won't go beyond a point of gaining our disrespect. He only (sometimes, not always) teeters (with certain things, like the ladies lol) on the edge where we aren't sure what he's going to do. If he's going to go too far and make us lose our faith in him. He never goes that far. Because he's ultimately good. He just has human flaws and human mistakes. Like the rest of us. Which is another aspect of the show I really love. And you can see it in Nikki's comments as well! She hates some of his past actions but she loves him. So his character really does well as giving us that humanity and imperfectness, yet goodness.

Unlike Vikings, you can honestly say this show gets better with each season. For me, after Ragnar left Vikings was downhill. Loved some of it, some.

First watching this episode I was at the edge of my seat the entire time I agree with him being married he pulls his hand away he was faithful she trys to bring out his desires but she gets visions about possible futures that may change just like Dr strange in a sense but great episode such a great season ahead can't wait to see what's next🤙🤙😁

Clappa had a "hold the door" (aka Hodor) ending that was emotional but fitting for his character

Historically speaking, a person named "bloodhair" would be due to him being a redhead, but on the darker shades, more a dark red than a bright orange

Interesting to see the polarising comments about Skade in season 3.... Even though it was clear she was bad news I have to confess I was fascinated and immediately under her spell.

ah Season 3 arguably the best season out of the entire show. you guys are going to LOOOVE this season Uhtred gets one of the best Character arcs this season and there is some massive narrative points in this season that sets the work for the rest of the show. it's easily got some of the best and worst moments in the show (worst such as in sadness and most heartbreaking deaths) also Skade very much comes across like Daenerys Targaryen but if she was raised as a wildling. Uhtred and Skade do very much remind me of Jon Snow and Daenerys romance but it's way more twisted and corrupted. Uhtred and Alfred's relationship is truly tested in this season and it comes to it's ultimate fate.

I three would be in his early 30b# here. He was 16 when Earl Ragnar was killed in the novels.
