There is no finer matte box than the Bright Tangerine.. Everything they make is so solidly built and engineered. It really is what you say, the last matte box you’ll need to own.

$200 more…higher end gear costs money. $200 can be rolled into your first invoice of the job this matte box gets used on.

Agreed, I have the Kick and the Atom. The Kick is a workhorse and they keep updating it which is nice. It also beats out the Arri LMB IMO for its wider field of view and rapid 2-3 stage conversion. The One Tray can only take up to a +2 diopter which makes it a fail. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but Arri has a rear mounting diopter tray adapter that can adapt and can sport a 3+ diopter without eating up 2 trays. I ended up putting a Schneider 138mm circular polarizer in a Revar Cine Pola tray.

@@creativegreatsvisualsit might seem like a minuscule difference but there’s a notch in corners of the Misfit Kick, increasing its field of view and ability to drop to a 2 stage. I believe there’s an Arri tray that attaches to the rear pins for larger diopters.

Just remember to properly secure your trays, I (completely my fault) dropped my circular polarizer and cracked it.. man pieces of glass are so expensive and fragile, it hurts lol That said, I fkn love my matte box. Yes it cots a lot but I don't see myself needing an upgrade, maybe just some add-ons. That said, I'm not the hugest fan of frame safe; I'm sure there is room for improvement there BUT it's an industry standard so easier to adapt to.

That depends entirely on your situation. Are you filming on a regular basis? Are you using a wide range of lenses that require the modular design of the frame adapters? Are you looking for a piece of gear that will last you YEARS? In comparison, the ARRI LMB Matte Box is $2,280.00 USD. The Misfit Kick is right there with the ARRI. If you're just shooting on an FX3 with a $1000 lens, a $100 ND Filter on your $300 Tripod, there's nothing wrong with that but sure...go for a budget friendly matte box, but I'm not going to trust a cheap matte box with expensive filtration. When it comes to gear, I want stuff that will last me a long time. This is it.
