My partner and I were leaving the miners gala field on a dismal rainy day. I had to stop on the bank leaving the field to listen to this lovely song. I did not leave until it had ended. It was a fitting end to a lovely day. Well done Joe and all of the Hatfield Brigade.

I shed a tear for grandad who started his mining career at the age of fourteen, and finished his last shift on the face at sixty five. They don't make them like that today do they!
