Thank you everyone for the wonderful messages and feedback. I feel sad watching the news about Sudan now, and often feel helpless. This is the one way I know how to help: telling the story of the land and its beautiful people. I’m praying for peace in Sudan. If you’d like to see more, I have 3 more videos on my channel from the first weeks in the country! Much love to all ❤️🇸🇩

Thank you so much, Flo. You don't know how much this video meant a lot to me as a person who witnessed the war from the start, living in Khartoum while the war is going for 5 months or so, then Al Gazira and witnessed its fall and only got out on March, then went to Sennar and the fall of Senja.. just a crazy story, and right now I am in Omdurman! Haha such a weird plot-twist I am living in at the moment!. And you are absolutely right. Yes it is a hard country, but it makes you tougher with each day comes.❤️ This video made me happy because perhaps we might get back to all of these small beautiful details.. perhaps someday we will look back at it and say: Phew, it was a wicked dream.❤️

I was there as a student studying in a Sudanese university on April 15, 2023 when the civil war broke out in Khartoum. I have very good memories living and studying in Sudan. The Sudanese people are probably the most hospitable and welcoming people I have ever seen. Never make you feel strange and lonely. I'm so sorry for the immense suffering that this war has brought upon the innocent people and the tragic lack of international attention the Sudanese crisis has received so far. The disastrous result of not holding accountable this genocidal Hamedti militia and his foreign backers is disheartening. But I'm confident that the Sudanese people, against all odds, will come out of this crisis stronger and united than never before. Btw thank you @FlorenceRyan for sharing this content.

Thank you for portraying such a heartfelt and positive image. I hope Sudan finds peace and beauty once again.

All the hardships, the tough weather, ruthless regimes make them so resilient and strong, however they find a way to stay kind and humble. I pray for peace and prosperity to our beautiful country. Watching this video, we live and feel Sudan, using all our senses. Every frame, every transition, every piece of music, every sound effect or animation, is carefully crafted. Nothing is left to chance. This is film making of the highest quality, used to tell a compelling story. It’s not just the landscape, the culture, the heritage, the customs and traditions of Sudan which are portrayed in such a moving way, it’s the people, warm and generous, who are the centre of our attention. And despite our tears for the loss of a society which once was, the message is a positive one, one of hope for the future. Well done, Flo. We’re hooked, and can’t wait for the next one. Thanks.

This video brought back memories dear to the heart of every Sudanese in this time of war (memories of simple daily life). Thank you for sharing these memories from your perspective, and thank you for visiting our dear country We all strive to come back better than we were, to build higher, to shine brighter, and to smile more. I hope that one day you will be able to see our country from our eyes, and see the date gardens in the north, and the shower of comets in the darkness of the desert, and Mount Tutil that hug the city of Kassala, and the plant diversity in the Arkuit Heights, and the hills of the Red Sea On the way to the crystal waters of Suakin, and the coral reefs of Port Sudan, and the city of El Obeid, which is called the “Bride of the Sands”,and the green mountain " Marra" and its fantastic orchards, and much more that I have not written about.

this is the most romantic video i have seen probably all year. romantic in the sense that you looked at our humble country with such love and openness and as such, was returned with the same love and openness. i saw through your eyes things i had bordered on forgetting despite having lived there my whole life, and seeing them now again, after everything that has occurred, well, it really adds a new lens. i have almost forgotten how kind my people are, how hospitable, how generous, but now i remember it so well it's brought tears to my eyes. thank you for coming, thank you for loving, thank you to everyone who was just as loving back, and most of all, thank you for seeing us not as a tragedy, but as devastatingly human.

Ryan, I don’t even know where to start. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting Sudan and capturing its beauty in such a genuine, touching way. Watching your video left me in tears-not just because of the memories it brought back, but because of the deep longing it awakened in me. With everything Sudan is going through now, it’s hard to put into words how much we ache for the life we once had-the simplicity, the joy, the sense of home. Living in another country, no matter how fascinating or comfortable, never fills that void. Sudan isn’t just where we’re from-it’s a part of who we are, and being away feels like leaving a piece of ourselves behind. Your video reminded me of the warmth, the beauty, and the soul of Sudan that we hold onto so tightly, even from afar. Thank you for showing the world the Sudan we know and love, especially during such a difficult time. It’s a gift I’ll never forget, and I’m so grateful you chose to share it with us.

The fact that you captured the moments we lived, the experiences we went through each day, the people we met, and all those little things-ah, you know what,I didn’t just watch this video with my eyes; I felt it with my heart. The flood of emotions, the countless memories, the moments that came rushing back… and the reality that we might never live them again. Such kind, cheerful, and always-smiling people, despite their simplicity and the hardships of life, they still find joy. A humble and undeserving people of all the suffering they endure, but there’s nothing they can do. We can only pray and ask Allah for relief.
