I really enjoyed this video. Sometimes I have to see the person in a wheelchair to realize how good I have it. This is no different, all these people want is to be able to eat and educate their children. There's no difference between us, we all want the same things. It's so sad to see how America 'my country' spends so much on bombs and bullets, yet we never have enough to take care of our own countrymen. The veterans, elderly, mentally ill and homeless people. None are taken care of. A tragedy.

The Water Village or in Malay we call it "Kampung Air" in Semporna is a gradual way of adaptation for the Bajaus from nomadic lifestyle to a more sedentary one. Modernity and modern nation state requires a form of sedentism for its people including the Bajaus in Semporna, Sabah. "Semporna" in Malay language means "Perfect". Sabah is a perfect example of a very complex region in Malaysia. In fact the most complex in terms of culture, religion, language, ethnicities as well as politics. There're more than hundreds of ethnic groups and sub ethnic groups as well as languages spoken in Sabah. The lingua franca for such diverse communities is Sabahan Malay or Bahasa Melayu Sabah. But the most complex of all is the political aspect of Sabah. With diverse ethnicities, religious affiliation and language spoken plus a very porous border with Philippines and Indonesia as well as a high number of migrants and stateless people in Sabah, it makes Sabah a very complicated region to administer. Most of the early migrants and stateless people in Sabah are from the Philippines. Many settled in Sabah since 1970s when separatist war between Muslims in Southern Philippines with Philippines Government broke out. The separatist war in Southern Phillipines had displaced many ordinary people from their home and villages. Many seek refuge in Sabah during that period of war turmoil in Southern Philippines including the Bajaus. The later migrations in the 1980s are due to the economic problems and underdevelopment in Southern Philippines as an effect of long separatist war in their region. So, there are some form of latent tensions between the local indigenous Sabahan with the migrant and stateless community in Sabah. I sincerely hope the Federal Government of Malaysia and the State Government of Sabah could find amicable, fair and humane solutions to some of the issues and problems that are arised due to high numbers of migrants and stateless people in Sabah.

dont name this video Sulu Sea if you're going to show Malaysia the entire time. The Sulu Sea is almost entirely in the Philippines

In a way, I envy them. They have nothing to worry about except their livelihood and living in a beautiful paradise. Modern people have everything they need but not contented and greedy and self-centered. I hope the Malaysian government let them stay.

That'll never happen, America will try to force some lies about democracy, when in fact all they want to do is steal and oppress you. I know, I'm an American and I'm embarrassed to admit it.

I'm filipino... they almost exploited all the reefs and other natural sea habitats around them including endangered fish spicies and corals, they left our country to explore more in the south for their survival... weather disruption is a minor issue...
