That radio station part where Abby's makes first contact with the Fireflies is really one of the best and powerful scene in the whole game in my opinion. It's the first glimpse of hope in such a dark journey where you can really feel her evolution in term of redemption and hate replaced by love and hope. The subtlety in her acting performance, the music, extremely well done.

I like to think that Abby and Lev made it safely to wherever they went, and lived a somewhat happy life. It's the only thing that gives me any comfort about the ending of this game. I really wouldn't mind them being in last of Us 3 quite frankly

@marcus howard ellie "wanted it" later in life either way you would have your kid die for a slim chance at rebuilding humanity, a cure wouldn't save the already turned just save a very small portion that are within the first hours of infection, clickers and bloaters just outright murder everything they see, and this isn't like walking dead the already infected just keep getting stronger as time passes, and then there's the stragglers that kill and rape people just because they have more guns and power is a cure gonna get them to stop? And how are they gonna reproduce the vaccine, most people don't have the resources to recreate a genetic mutation, So no I wouldn't have my kid sacrificed for a useless vaccine against a world that is beyond repairing and to throw them at something that would do so little is just a waste of life.

The Rattlers don't strike me as smart enough to pull off a trick like that. Also Abby had to go through a lot of trouble trying to find the radio. If it had been a trap it would have been more obvious I think.

Little late to this but THIS IS MY EXACT THOUGHT! Think about it, they told her to go to the building at Avalon which was where the Rattlers were setup yet no heads up from radio guy? No recon of the area despite "200 strong" members nor did they decide that maybe these Rattlers who have absolute control of the area are dangerous, keeping slaves and using Clickers as attack dogs in the EXACT place that they told Abby to go? No mentions of even havind had skirmishes with Rattlers? Also no other information on the mystery Firefly given to Abby nor asked from her. Also the whole "we'll find you" is a bit ominous now looking back on it. They say they intercepted the radio signal but to me, the voices of the Firefly and that big Rattler dude sound the same. I honestly think it wasn't Fireflies, you are not alone.

The large circular building in the background I'm pretty sure is where Abby and Lev where being held prisoner and where Ellie found them, the same exact place mentioned by the guy on the radio... also, no heads up on the Rattlers? No recon of the general area that both inhabit? Damn, how the hell did they get those 200 strong members when they are so deep underground? Also, don't you think that maybe the Rattlers after finding out from Abby over the radio transmission that they intercepted that they would be all over them, especially if the Fireflies don't know about the Rattlers? No mention by the Rattlers that they even have seen said Fireflies nor try look for them?

This has got to be one of the best reveals in the game, THE FIREFLIES ARE FUCKING ALIVE! Especially after the drought of information about them in this game. They are propably the only good group in The Last of Us universe. I suspect that the 3rd game will revolve around them and how they restore humanity by making a cure or something. Topping off with this new dynamic is hard to do within half the hours this game contains, especially with there being Ellie and Joel in it (Characters with history that is as long as a whole game).

I had the same question. I felt it was a set-up from the beginning... Having Abby go to an address in an abandoned neighborhood. But the "end screen" argument is pretty compelling. That's an actual building in Catalina (and not the domed building in the Rattler camp). Also, 2425 Constance is definitely a functioning barracks, but for who? The Rattlers camp is near by (wouldn't make much sense). But Catalina Island is 100+ miles away from Santa Barbara. Chances are the guy was telling the truth and it was a FF outpost... several cities away from their main base.

How are people saying they want to play as these people who took them its disgusting and Abby didn't deserve all that as she was just trying to avenge her father which i understand completely and Ellie is just as bad as abby, they're both killing for revenge. I see a lot of Joel in Abby, and Lev in some way represents Ellie (not that i want them to replace Joel and Ellie). Just seeing the way Abby looked at the end I didn't even want to fight her, knowing what she went through was more than enough, I actually felt physically sick when fighting her because she was actually a good person. She just didn't care anymore and was only fighting Ellie to ensure Lev's safety. I actually liked abby's story and found it incredibly interesting, and she was in really bad shape at the end so I genuinely hope she made it out okay (I don't think Abby killing Joel was necessarily justified, but neither was all the deaths Joel and Ellie caused, a lot of the fireflies Joel killed had a family that they didn't get to go home to). This is just my opinion, it's all about perspective. I really enjoyed the game. If you don't like the dark aspects of it, you're clearly not cut out for The Last of Us.

Abby was conflicted about her own vengeance, particularly the brutality of it, it is part of the reason she attached herself to the two 'Scars' - she was trying for redemption. She also spared Ellie twice, I loved her story arc. Ultimately, Ellie follows suit. I think it's some of the best storytelling I've ever seen in a game.

Makes me wonder if the fireflies will continue to persue Ellie to try and make a vaccine and if so would Abby try to stop them because Ellie saved her at the end? And then what of Ellie after she leaves the farm after getting back from California? There are so many unanswered questions that could make up part 3's premis

The games goal to see how Abby felt, we felt how she felt. When her dad was killed. And sadly everyone would have gone on to the classic revenge..journey and that’s so human. And that’s ART! Even buff female crossfitters and elite female powerlifters dont have this build. And some of them are bigger than she is, i think they messed up the proportions somewhere. It also doesnt help that no one else in her group is even close to being as buff as she is, making her appearance seem even more off. When does she train? How did she have enough time to produce that developement? She doesnt have an average physique, she is elite crossfitter level. She cant afford to do half assed workouts and you need your energy when the world ends to do stuff. So unless Abby was in a bunker training at least 5 days a week for the last four years, its weird. There was a similiar issue with a character in days gone named bozzer, everyone else looks baseline and he's just buff. While being sick, dying of fever etc.

I beat the game and mostly disliked Abby. Second time, I tried to look at her redemptive qualities. The fireflies reaction was golden. Loved that track. But the game just dumps all over it in the next scene. The game was way too depressing. This coming from a huge Silent Hill(1-3) fan back in the day. That stuff is fine when you’re a teen, but the real world is depressing. Gotta try to find some light/look to the light. 🤔
