When I first played this I thought that this was ground zero where the virus spread to throughout the US and later the world but than when Tommy mentions the east and west coast you soon realize that this is world wide. Same with Fear the Walking Dead (when it was good) season 1 made me and maybe others believe that LA was ground zero and that the reanimated girl was patient zero but then as more episodes came out you realize that this is happening again worldwide. I would love to see a Last of Us game set in Northern Europe, the UK, Australia, Japan, El Paso and crossover to Ciudad Juarez, just see how other countries are doing.

Sure, while his reasons can be interpreted as selfish, they can also just as well be interpreted as selfless. He put himself into grave danger to save Ellie because he felt the price was too high. There is no right or wrong answer. Look at the world that was to be saved. Do you really think things would have went back to normal with a cure? The most likely thing that would have happened is that the Fireflies would have used it to gain an advantage over anyone else. The juxtaposition between the opening scene and the final hospital chase is perfect. Here you feel the hopeless desperation as a scared father flees for safety as Joel and his daughter’s world comes crashing down before them, ultimately for it to end in heartbreak for Joel. As he flees the hospital with Ellie, you instead have a hardened and guilt ridden survivor determined not to fail her like he failed Sarah. In his own mind he’s not just trying to save Ellie’s life, joel is chasing his own redemption and a second chance at being a dad. Story telling at its finest.

Again with the unexplained bashing of Part 2. I get it is not a feel good story with the nostalgic warmth and homeliness mood. You gotta learn to grow up. Part 2 is not a masterpiece by any means. Part 2 have it's moments, even more so intense than the Part 1. Saying this scene is better than Part 2, people commenting like you or those liking it are just jumping on the no explain hate wagon. I liked the theme of the game was something different, however the story could've been done abit differently having a similar result.
@tigerishrumble79764 жыл бұрын
@@PsyQoBoy . The story was lazy as hell, pulling cheap manipulative tricks such as Forcing you to kill a dog then play fetch with it in the past. Killing abbys father is just a fan fic cliche. I honestly think the premise is really good, but it was poorly executed. "Well crafted, poorly executed" As my uncle, who has a PhD in Philosophy, said, “A game can include a deep message, however if it forces you not enjoy yourself by playing as someone you hate, making you feel angry, sad, and anxious, then it’s not a game, it should be a movie.” I agree with some points of the story, however, it’s not the fact that Abby killed Joel, it’s making us sympathize with someone we hate. The very little respect I had for Abby absolutely got destroyed when she didn’t feel any remorse in torturing Joel or being okay with killing Dina, when Ellie was mentally scarred when she tortured Nora and killed Mel. I hated Abby because she was a straight up horrible person, nothing redeeming in her. Her dad died pretty quickly compared to Joel. I think a game shouldn’t make you feel angry or make you hate it on purpose. That’s why there are movies. I’d rather waste a couple of dollars watching a movie that makes me feel this way (Uncut Gems) than waste 60 dollars on a game that, in the end, made me feel so bad for Ellie,meanwhile Abby got off pretty light compared to what Ellie has been through. Ellie literally went through worse and I felt bad for her, when I saw Abby alone with lev because she lost everything, I felt joy knowing she was miserable. If they made us play as Ellie for the whole game then I wouldve actually given this game a 9 or so out of 10. Or if they made Part 2 about Abby and Ellie in the 4 year gap, slowly learning that Joel killed Abby’s father, but not being confirmed until the end that he, in fact, did kill him. That way we see our dear protagonist, Joel, as an enemy since we came to love Abby before killing Joel. That way Joel’s death is more meaningful and makes us feel very confused. It’s not so much the message the problem, but the poorly written new characters, you can straight out see how Joel, Ellie, and Tommy are the most interesting characters here. The new ones were so forgettable, I only remember Owen, Mel and Abby’s name. Just because they made us see that horrible, boring, and unnecessary love triangle. Forcing us to love the enemies when I never cared for them, every time someone dies I felt satisfaction, never did I care for the WLF. This is a perfect example of “well crafted, poorly executed” Such an interesting concept but ultimately ruined by its writing and execution of the story. The message wasn’t the problem. It was the delivery overall. And, in my opinion, (you are free to think other wise) it isn’t a games job to show us the cruel reality, they can, but that 60 dollar price tag makes it even more risky to pull off. I think if I would’ve gotten this game for 20-30 dollars, I would’ve been much more satisfied. Just look at doom and it’s overwhelming amount of praise, it’s because they are games, and not overpriced interactive movies. however, after thinking it through... Jesus do I appreciate more the story, I still feel divided, but I understand what Neil wanted to make us feel. As more time passes I appreciate more and more this game. I'll never give it a 10/10, but it definitely deserves a must play at least when it's on sales or playstation hits. So no, Im sick and tired of people only saying "Oh, you didn't like it because you can't grow up, give valid points" I could make a 10 page esaay on saying why the story is just one of the worst, it poorly handled. And keep in mind that I avoided the leaks and I was crazy hyped for this game, even Pre-ordered it. So, no. I didn't want the comment to hate on TLOU2 without reason because I have to write a whole essay every time someone says some stupid shit like "It's supposed to make you feel bad, you're supposed to think!" I mean, Uncut Gems, Catherine, Detroit, Breaking Bad, and a whole ton of movies, series and games have made me feel anxious, sad, angry and everything that the TLOU2 tried to make me feel, and I enjoyed every second of it, because it was weel executed. Unlike TLOU2, that made me. Feel angry, anxious and sad because of how bad the story was. Not because it was really good. So, please, don't say I hate this game with no reason. That's just idiotic on your part. Edit: fixed a typo.

I think this beginning would be a good start for a dlc fill in some of the gaps like what tommy was doing before he went to joel and sara and what joel was doing after she went to sleep. Then after it all fill in the 20 year later gap! It would be awesome to see joel, tommy, and tess and possibly bill. As hunters then leading. To their split up and tess and joel become smugglers. Tommys joining of the fireflies and his fall out and bill and frank going off to their town. Id probably get last of us 2 for myself if they did that.

The TV series really nailed the introduction and even added some other details that makes the final product so compelling and believable without agressively deviating from the original material. HBO proving to the entire Hollywood producing and screenwriting community that's possible to successfully adapt a videogame into a live action show
