Well the kids had wounded him pretty much fatally stabbing him through it his spine then when he stabbed the kid through the heart the kid not only kept talking but pulls himself on the sword slam stepper off with his own sword while it was stuck through where his heart should have been in started showing Mako eyes even though the kid had never been inducted into Soldier. I have a stupid theory that cloud may have been a descendant of the Certa which is why Arith was actually looking out for him

I have a couple major problems with how this scene ends. Namely, Cloud's Mako eyes and Sephiroth jumping into the Lifestream. I much prefer Cloud throwing Sephiroth into the pit with his entirely human strength like in the game. Especially since he hadn't been exposed to Mako by this point in the story.

Great question! I'd love to know, too. Far as I can tell, it was just a clumsy adaptation. Unless I'm getting a detail wrong (MAJOR SPOILERS), . . . . only SOLDIER members are exposed to Mako and given the eyes. Cloud never made SOLDIER, but when Hojo saw his near-dead body and realized that he had defeated Sephiroth, Hojo put Cloud and Zack in healing tanks filled with basically raw Mako and Jenova DNA, and that's when Cloud got the eyes that made everyone assume he was part of SOLDIER.

Last Order was around two years before Crisis Core came out. I get that people enjoyed it, but Christ on a crutch, stop giving it credit for things that it had nothing to do with. They're all superhumans, Orcaluv... You're also forgetting that it's literally impossible to wield the Buster Sword in the first place if you want to get technical about it. Like, his sword defies the way physics works completely - even with superhuman strength one could not do what Cloud does with the Buster Sword in the real world, similar to how Sephiroth should've been paralyzed from that injury in the REAL WORLD. These are superhumans in a FANTASY world - that's why Sephiroth can still move. It's called Final FANTASY for a reason.

Cloud was just human Cloud in this fight but he shows a small sample of how extraordinary he truly is. Well he is a clone of Seph so having mako eyes makes sense if Seph was first infused with mako. This is right before him and Zack are taken to the shinra mansion. In the game you see this in a flashback going back there on disc 3. The only difference I notice from the game was Seph willingly jumping. I think in the game Cloud lifts him up and throws him in but I could be wrong. Been a while since I played it

Bazzlefield Cloud is not a Sephiroth clone. Hojo tried to make him one, but it failed, if anything Cloud is a Zack Clone because Zack's memories were imprinted on him and he thouht he was Zack in a sense. Also, you're right. Cloud threw Seph into the mako even before he was enhanced.

From what the Turks' report suggested, Sephiroth did indeed throw himself into the lifestream, which was definitely not the case in reality. The turk that showed up at the end barely saw what truly happened and just reported what was believed to have happened.

I'm a cloud fan and I hate this version because it reduces Cloud's part by having Sephiroth jump rather than being thrown. I hate this so much I am actually going to dislike the video, not because the uploader deserves that, they deserve thanks for bringing it to my attention, but I must show my hatred of this with more than just words.

Cloud is a nobody, he didn't make it into soldier because he was too weak, he suffered motion sickness and basically just ended up a failure embarrassed to show his face in his hometown. Then Sephiroth snaps, kills Clouds mother, everyone in his hometown and sets it on fire, kills tifas dad, looks like he kills Tifa who was Clouds childhood crush and Zack who was his mentor in some regards. Seeing all this happen Cloud snaps, he takes a cheap shot at Sephiroth and catches him off guard, if Sephiroth saw him coming he would be dead but Sephiroth had such little concern over this nobody he forgot he even existed. With the cheap shot landed, he goes back to tend to Tifa and Zack, when Sephiroth walks past him and Zack tells him to finish it. Cloud makes another attempt at a cheap shot but this time Sephiroth is paying attention and skewers Cloud. This should be the death of Cloud, the nobody, the failure ashamed to show his face but in that moment something awakens inside him, he reaches into a well of strength and overpowers Sephiroth with his last act throwing him over the side and avenging his whole hometown and everyone he card about. When Hojo finds him and experiments on him Cloud is back to being the weak nobody he started out as, the jenova cells overpower him and leave him a vegatable and then a fake half Zack half Cloud hybrid. His arc to not only rediscover himself but also to reach his true potential makes for a great story, but it all starts with a nobody who failed to reach his dreams pushed to his absolute limit and manages to achieve the impossible. When you switch that to he was a nobody that took a cheap shot on a guy, got impaled and then sephiroth jumped to his death for no good reason you undo Clouds entire arc and remove the potential in favor of something that makes zero sense and adds nothing to either character. Anyways, just thought I would explain what I meant.

What I really like in this scene was Zack telling Cloud to finish off Sephiroth. Despite Sephiroth being op as shit. No matter what, take the fucker out. That's courage even in a situation where the enemy could kill you by looking at you. No matter what, he ain't leaving the facility. And cloud accomplished the mission. He may have been living Zacks memories and impersonating a famed SOLDIER. But he is THE hero who defeated Sephiroth in the first encounter. Cloud is an unsung hero of that incident. An avenger.

Wow! Just one ever so slight, ever so subtle change to how things went down. I won't even mention what it is so those who didn't play know that there really is no difference, and everything that composed this epic scene is intact. This was amazing. I remember it being stated somewhere (unofficially) that the fight between Zach and Sephiroth inside the chamber was a beat down, and poor Zach never even stood a chance despite all his skill. This was the first time I've seen any interpretation of that fight, and I am glad it was this.

Nope, I've just played this part in the original game and when they fall into the lifestream Tifa says that she didn't wanted to tell Cloud the truth (she already knew) because she was afraid of his health (Tifa found Cloud in the Sector 7 Train Station pretty damaged for mako exposure after escaping Nibelheim Mansion, that's when she decided to stay close by luring him into working for Avalanche). Tifa said that when she met Cloud again Cloud knew things that he shouldn't and he didn't knew things that he should've known.

*Spoilers... if it even matters at this point* so from what I've know, this is not what really happened. Apparently, all of it was correct except for when Cloud gets stabbed. Cloud was still not Infused with Jenova Cells yet, so his eyes glowing green is wrong. and Sephiroth does not simply jump off. what really went down was that Cloud uses sheer will power to literally grab the sword, picks a weakend Sephiroth up, and throw him off the platform. which, imo, is better story telling. afterwards is when Cloud gets infused with the Jenova Cells and.... yeah... FF7 everyone! best story ever told! (I really want to play FF7 Remake...)

Agree entirely except the FFVII remake which will be a disaster I have no intention of playing and I count FFVII as my favorite game of all time. No atb, changing the settings and characters and story, splitting it into chapters to be sold seperatley. That's before we mention likely DLC and loot crates because its not enough to ruin the game in one way they have to ruin it in every way possible.

@@megaham1552 I'm late, very late, but it doesn't. The entire point was that Sephiroth was overpowered by some grunt that found inner strength due to pure rage and sorrow. That is a far more beautiful and understandable fight. This? Sephiroth wouldn't have actively committed suicide. Not only that, but Tifa never sees Cloud there, otherwise the events later where she realizes Cloud was her savior, don't make sense.

Takeo Kawata it was stated that cloud had passed the physical training part to become soldier which is why he could carry the buster sword, but he had failed in the mental part of becoming soldier, meaning his mind wasn't strong enough to continue with the soldier process which had rendered him an infantry men

Watching this in December 2020 after the Smash Bros DLC announcement to learn more about the guy. I've only played the first three or so hours of FF7 and seen Advent Children a few times. All I remember about Seph prior to his Smash reveal is that he slaughters everyone in Nibelheim and how awesome of a song One-Winged Angel is.

There’s two things about this which I’m not a fan of, 1. Why is Tifa able to have a fully fledged conversation with Zack AND with Cloud (who she thinks wasn’t even there afterwards) when she is properly bleeding out. 2. Sephiroth just jumping into the lifestream of his own volition

As far as I know, Cloud must not show his face to Tifa because he was shy but in this anime it is different

No he did the same thing in the game, you are right he was hiding his face but not because of shyness but instead because of shame for having failed to get into soldier. He still took his helmet (which looked much different and was blue) off after finding tifa and zack at the reactor before or just after facing sephiroth (can't remember which but by the time he finished sephiroth off on the bridge he was helmet-less). The bigger issues are his glowing eyes which he shouldn't have till after the fight when he is injected by hojo and showered with mako. and sephiroth jumping instead of being thrown into the lifestream.

I really hated the fact that while Crisis Core was centered around Zack, I can't help but feel it was just a tool to introduce Cloud and that Zack did not get what he deserved . Zack has always been my most favorite FF character.

If you played the original game you would know that Cloud was alongside Zack on a couple of missions including this one. They had to introduce Cloud in this game or it wouldn't have made sense.

I found Crisis Core to be a very nice game. We not only see how Zack was before his untimely death, but also an exploration of his relationship with Aerith, how him and Cloud became friends, and just how deep the Buster Sword was. It also provided a little tie up of the case of Soldier G in Dirge of Cerberus, where we see someone carry Weiss away, and the game shows that it was Genesis. Thankfully, he sounds less of a vampire, but rather more of an eccentric poet.
