Im a old guy of 68 yrs and remember very well being 21 or 22 and literally burning up the roads on my 1968 t100r, it was a awesome bike, I still have triumphs in my bike stable today, I have a 68 T120R Bonneville and a 70 TR6R tiger, I have lived a fairly long life and motorcycles have always been a part of it, and triumph motorcycles have always been in my stable, I have always loved the British classics, over the yrs I've had more than a few Harleys from a sportster up to a Road king including a lowrider, but I must say none of them, not one made me feel like the triumph did, when I put my ass on the seat of my triumph, heard the exhaust note and felt the vibration and the torque, I can't explain it, other than the feeling of being a king of the hiway, god bless America and thank you Triumph motorcycles for a lifetime of fun,

The post 1969 Triumph 500 twins are the ones to get. They have a timing side ball bearing rather than a bushing and they have a provision for an oil pressure gauge. Great bikes. Bullet proof with small bike feel.

Photo bomb 10:58! That is one righteous Triumph, by the way. Some motorcycle engines make for a wail that sends shivers down your spine but nothing beats the sound of a four stroke vertical twin.

My uncle was kind enough to let me ride his 71 Trophy 650. Same exhaust setup. Beautiful blue and White. Made me want a Triumph real bad.

That's one beautiful Triumph. Gotta love Steve McQueen. He made some awesome action movies, and was a damn good motorcycle rider and racer. My favorite Steve Mcqueen Movies were The Hunter where he portrayed a Bounty Hunter, and Bullitt, that had one of the best car chase scenes, in the hills of San Francisco, out of any movie, with beautiful vintage muscle cars.

I owned a both a 500 Trophy and a Daytona - the Daytona had hotter "Q" cams and a close ratio transmission along with the twin carbs. The Trophy had milder cams and a wide ratio transmission along with the up-sweep pipes. All 500's had silver cylinders - they were painted black at the factory only the 650's. However, this bike is a wonderful find and Steve McQueen's favorite bike!

The pipes are absolute badass on this. Awesome bike and sounds great. Great beginner size, low to the ground, has some suspension. Complete, matching numbers bike that has been taken care of and refreshed. Triumph (India) is making new Scramblers now or next year.

Change gear at 6,000 and release the beast. I have a 71 Daytona, the only year with an 8" TLS front brake. Mine was brought home from California to a few miles from where it was made. The gearbox is actually BSA, since they were sharing more and more design and construction as time went on.

Hey Ken , how are you ? Triumphs are great bikes and are a great way to get into retro motorcycling. That jacket you're wearing is also very cool. Back in the day my mom worked with Gary Nixon's mom , her name was Floy and she was a very sweet lady. She gave my mom an an autographed photo of Gary on his road race bike when I was a kid.

Motor cycle perfection . There are better models , also far worse . But once you have owned and ridden one of these , the connection is made . Best investment you can make .

I've noticed this McQueen guy's name gets bandied about an awful lot in Triumph circles. I don't give a flying F about Steve McQueen and I couldn't even name 1 movie he was in. If you ask me , McQueen looks like he belongs at the Blue Oyster Bar from Police Academy, in those pictures posing on the bike with his shirt off and all that bs. Maybe that's why he was called McQueen, like McNugget. Doesn't anybody remember that Evel Kneival rode Triumph bikes?
@KaplanCycles7 ай бұрын
The whole thing about him is that when you have a superstar that everybody in America knows and he endorses motorcycles it's extremely good for the sport same goes for Evel Knievel and other Legends like him
