I think Jackie Gleason and the whole cast would be so amazed by how much of a following he had in the 1970-80s I think people today would love his shows. I still get tears in my eyes with the Christmas one -I loved how he got every one out of character and thanked them and wished us all a Merry Christmas. The one where he agree's to be young again and they all go on a date roller skating,Just hearing him say at the end of most of the shows to Alice "Baby,Your the Greatest" was so sweet to here after he could be such a grumpy pus. I like how Alice said to him - I'm the Luckiest woman in the world because you still get jealous if another man looks at me. I Loved the Honeymooners over I Love Lucy.

THE HAT: Art Carneys' son is still in possession of the hat. In 2017 an original musical of The Honeymooners debuted at the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. Carneys' son brought the hat backstage to show to the cast. The musical was fun and a thrill for many of us Honeymooners fans. So many little 'Easter eggs' put into the dialogue and what a sight to see the apartment replicated live on stage.

Even as a kid, I thought the characters of the Flintstones were based on the Honeymooners. It is only in recent years that I learned Jackie Gleason didn't rehearse for the shows. Art Carney's character was important, that's true, but it's Gleason's character that I always thought was the best. "Norton" sometimes annoys me but that's probably because I can identify better with "Ralph." I guess both characters needed each other to bring out the talent and the story of what Gleason was trying to accomplish. The show is a gem, in my book. I watched reruns as a kid and I still watch them. Raw talent and true entertainment like this never gets old.
