Now that's Meyer, 100%. Feels kinda FMA/Silat at the same time but The Pants make it clear who's the mastermind behind it!

Adam Radoń fma maybe, silat maybe/maybe not. depending on from where. we would probably try to move the opponent more and ourselves less. but that is just preferance. i think this is quite good

Well we only spent one evening learning a spurious technique, even though we read it through together at the time. A wise man once said "Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living? That's something else."

Can't find pommels? The coastguard is the the ultimate hand to hand combat weapon. Especially when there is ballpoint at the end of the quillions

The pluderhose alone made it more Meyer! Now that the pants joke is out of the way... I have always interpreted this as: Your opponent attacks with an oberstich, you defend with an unterstich from the left hip, trapping his wrist/hand between your dagger and hand (like in the first vid, just reversed), then finish as you did.

Michael Degner :) I would have too, however the text says go with a hanging dagger from your right. Also i suggest looking at the paragraph following the first too plays.:)

bob drenan It will happen a lot, sometimes the tajo in montante will come from the wrong angle to make the play accurate to the text so you re reed and re learn. This was the only the second time I had read the play so I am happy to get it wrong to get it right.:) And thank you.:)

LondonLongsword Do you think the previously shown play is effective even if it isnt one to one with the source?
@LondonLongsword
@LondonLongsword 7 жыл бұрын
bob drenan The second play contains some components of it. That said from an academic point of view I don't want to explore if it works in this context, only if it works and is correct to the treatise.:)

The fun thing is that if someone wants to stab you with a knife - it would do it when you don't see the knife. xD

Favkis Nekotrap It depends in tge type of attack. However that is an often important truth that I regularly point out.

We were going over a bit about dealing with knife attacks when unarmed in hema last week as something a bit different. The improtant point was brought up that if its an ambush there is really not much you can do about it
