Couple ideas for episodes. 1) What is the process to "Declare Martial Law" in a democracy? Like say, the US 2) If you found an actual alien artifact, extraterrestrial device, debris or full working spaceship would you be able to keep it? If not, who has the authority to take it from you?
@JWSmythe4 жыл бұрын
If you have a fully working alien spaceship, ownership is whoever figures out how to lock the doors first. If you get in, lock the doors, and fly away first, there's absolutely nothing they can do about it. Well, assuming you manage the "fly away" part. A surface to air missile is effective up to 70k feet up or 28 miles. Up is a lot shorter than over. The local government always has the right to declare anything in their jurisdiction as their property. See "Eminent domain". If your local government doesn't have an eminent domain law, fall back on the golden rule ... "the people with the guns make the rules". The national government is usually the group with the most firepower, to separate you from your newly acquired alien spaceship. If you're in a smaller country, expect the US, Russia, China, to come assist you with surrendering your newly acquired alien spaceship. If you're lucky, you'll get a friendly mention for assisting in the recovery of a wayward weather balloon. If you saw too much, your next of kin will be notified of the tragic boating accident that you were in.
