Weird take, this sounds like the kind of coverage that Balan Wonderworld should have got. That game felt like it was developed in a world that didn't see any game design beyond the lead up to the N64's launch but the heart is in there. Difference being this is a 20 dollar game made by a team that seems to make 20 dollars games, and balan tried to launch at 60.

Given the themes, seems it's one of those games that, were it more fun, it'd damage the message it's trying to convey. Or its just another attempt at a We Happy Few type game that failed. Sad too. Makes me wonder if there's a good reason a red hat was such a prominent element in a game called The Last Worker. Then again, assumes there's enough remaining intelligence for them to see the obvious connection. And given this review, good chance even the writers/devs failed to notice.

It's wild to me that I'm supposed to believe that the workers were hurt by both worsening workplace conditions AND stricter regulations. Regulations are to prevent bad conditions so basically the job was pretty rotten from the start. Otherwise I would have to assume that the company would have voluntarily improved conditions but was frustrated by regulations. Does that sound like a reasonable assumption? With analysis this shallow, it's no wonder the game left much to be desired.

Not mutually exclusive. Government is more complex than a single label can cover and many government backed social programs exist in Countries that also use Capitalism. Anyone with half a brain isn't saying Capitalism bad or Socialism bad, rather you take a look at the individual problems in society and you see which system works best with that system while without being disruptive to the rest of the systems in that society. Unchecked Socialism tends towards the problems of bureaucracy and inefficiency. With Socialism though you don't need the greed motivator like Capitalism to power those systems as they are tax funded. Things like Regulatory Agencies, Roads, Post Offices, and Airports tend to work better when Government operated. Unchecked Capitalism pools Capital in the hands of a few greedy people who effectively wind up crushing the main benefit of capitalism which is that you can inspire innovation from many places as people are motivated to find new ways of making money which means (in the best case scenario) finding something people have a need/want for. TLDR: Both S&C can be good or bad depending on the context of where and how they are implemented. Society is large enough that you see examples of both implemented in various areas in modern society.
