ultimate gateway into harder onewheels. great board to recommend to people wanting to start! personally anything that lowers the board is a no go for me, im holding off on any curved rails or smaller hubs. i have 3 GT-s and love the clearance when i pump the tire up and use a pioneer tire on one that has a super square stable shape. miss the 60d vega brinbg that back, the stock slick on the 1st XR was so tuff for trail even in the wet PNW where i ride trail daily, snow, sleet, or rain

me too! i have an OG XR as well! though, the board is modded a bunch... wtf rails, softpads, badger, new lights, internal carpet dots for activation consistency doing tricks, enduro tire, etc... but all the internals are stock, and no vesc, so i could still feel the difference in performance. from what i understand, It's basically a GT but in a XR platform. 75 volt battery. most likely sure an updated controller and the GT motor.

You don't push at all, you lean forward to go forward and back to go back. Turning is more like carving on a snowboard

I broke my collarbone and got a concussion on my onewheel and my wife made me sell it. I want to get a new one so bad. I’m just waiting for her to forget and also I got to save the money. These MFer’s are not cheap. But I loved it so much and watching a ride it just reminds me of how much I loved it

Only thing stopping me from getting a one wheel is the safety features everyone complains about these things cutting off after you reach the limit they rlly need to work on better sensors and preventing this things randomly cutting off on users is a big hazard

That's not the case actually. There is pushback (lifts nose) and haptic buzz to both alert you that you're going beyond the recommended max speed. If you ignore the warnings and keep pushing well beyond that point, you eventually reach a line where the board simply has no reserve power left to accelerate, which is how it balances you. So pushing beyond that point is like a tipping point, where the nose will dip. It's technically still giving it all its got (rather than cutting out), you're just asking for even more than that. It's a physics issue with self balancing devices, there's no avoiding it unfortunately, but that's why the speed warnings are in place (with plenty of headroom no-less) If you actually stay within the board's limits, it's pretty darn safe 👌

Ricky I wanted to just say your a great skateboarder and person, but future motion is a pretty bad company. They are very against people working on their own boards, modifying or upgrading them, or even just fixing them when things break.
