The latest TVC Clones surprised me in both good AND bad ways! 501st 332nd Phase 2 | Clone Corner 169

This mold with the new helmet has absolutely already replaced the antenna mold clones as the definitive sculpt. The only way the antenna mold beats the new sculpt in any way is some of the paint. The new helmet sculpt is THE most accurate phase 2 helmet we've ever gotten in the 3.75-inch scale compared to what is seen on screen. The antenna mold, despite being good, really doesn't have that accurate of a shape compared to what's on screen.

@@chataclysm2112 What do you mean it's incorrect? This is quite literally the most accurate helmet we have ever gotten on a 3.75 clone. I literally spent 2 hours comparing all the 3.75 phase 2 helmets hasbro has made, and this is the most screen accurate version of all of them. Also, the articulation and proportions of this new mold far outclass the antenna mold, which, while not nearly as thin as VC45, is still too thin to actually look like a person in armor.

I love the antenna mold too, but people seem to be unwilling to take off their nostalgia glasses comparing it to the new mold. The paint on the new helmets doesn't 100% fill the sculpt properly but I can tell the sculpt that's there is dead on accurate. Sculpting, articulation, accuracy are all so much better on the TVC mold, while the antenna mold only has it beat in the repaint department.

I love this 4 pack so much. It’s my three favorite armors, so I had to get two. The new mold is amazing and perfect, they need to start pumping out definitive repaints of all legions and unique characters

I don't know why Hasbro can't just use scans of the helmets like they do with the Imperial/First Order Stormtroopers. But still, this set is awesome, I hope to see Captain Gray from Bad Batch in this new mold.

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what you mean the 05 one looks better than the new regs. Maybe it’s cause you grew up with them but the new one looks much better to me proportionally at least.

Yeah the 05 mould is hideous. I don’t mind the helmets apart from them being a slight cone shape but the bodies look so bad. The P1 ones are even worse

I love this set, the price is bad but with the articulation and new sculpt this is easily my favorite clone figure. With a little refining on the helmet it could look as good as the tvc storm trooper. Can’t wait for the future of clone figures and what they do next!

In my case I received one of the normal white clones looking just like yours and the other one has the crisp visor like the 501, its a QC issue, unfortunately most of the regs have the smudging around the visor

I loved this 4 pack, the paint is nearly perfect and the helmet is beautiful, but one of my Regs was missing HALF THE GREY STRIPE, so I repainted it into a shock trooper

On the andor clones, i paint in the top edge of the visor with tamiya semi gloss black with a tooth pick, you can feel the edge of the mould and get a straight line. If you go over the edge accidentally, leave paint to dry for ten minutes then scratch it off with a clean tooth pick 👍🏻

My only problem is the ratio. I would've much preferred if we just got 2 white troopers and 2 501st troopers but with alternate 332nd helmets. That way if you want to army build one or the other more you can. Or just all 501st with alt helmets

even comparing the role play black series clone helmet to the disney parks windu clone helmet --- Hasbro fails miserably at clone helmets. the visor and mouth is squished, even here the mouth sits a little high but it is an improvement over last year fosho

I was definitely iffy about this mold with both the Andor and the 212th Troopers, but I do think this pack is a step in the right direction! The only little gripes I really have with this mold would be with the hands and feet, which I feel are both oddly large. Maybe it's just me, but they seem a bit oversized. I do hope we get the 501st on a single-card, preferably with an alternate head, in place of the removable helmet. It doesn't feel like we've gotten nearly enough figures on this mold, but it is still fairly new, so perhaps it's just a matter of time. Hasbro is definitely making up for some past sins with the paint and new helmets on two of the four figures with this set 😂

The endor mold it’s pretty good after you repaint the visor (in order to make it wider). I also raised the head so he can have a neck. After that, it’s all good.

These guys look good, although for my andor copy I painted the chin black and sat the helmet higher on the head. Without the paint the chin sticks out, but I think it looks a lot more natural and gives them a neck.

They look great. I wish they still did grill for the mouth piece, but I’m excited to get my hands on them. I hope the Rex coming out has a swappable helmet. Edit: The 501st looks amazing. They do have the grill, just wish it was a grey and not black. But I can live with that, it’s a 3.75 inch toy.

The black panel on the rear of the head still isn't painted and they forgot the silver detail on the round grills either side of the chin. They're better than before, but still room for improvement.

Honestly love these figures, even the regs but I do agree this should have been all 501st/332nd. Sadly for mine, the 332nd clone's visor paint is awful, like the top of the visor slopes down and it gives him an angry face look.

I'm so happy they're going back to anone-removeable helmets. As I've thought for a while now, that is the reason why helmets always looked off it because it's has to be removeable. Since money/time that would've been used, making the helmet look good, gets reallocated into making the head underneath look good instead. Now, all they need to do is stop making the helmet heads out of the swishy material, and I bet the helmets will look great!

Believe me J4 you’re not the only 1 wishing this set had 2 501st’s instead of the 1 we got😔 Ideally this set should’ve been 3 501st’s and 1 332nd but if Hasbro REALLY wanted to keep the Plain White in there they could’ve at least made it 1 Plain, 1 332nd and 2 501st’s. Perhaps I’ll try to find listings that are selling just the 501st and with or without the 332nd, as for the plains I’ll probably just turn them into some Phase 2 104th Wolfpack troopers because we don’t have enough of them, hell! even the Shock Troopers got more releases before the skinny mold during the Vintage Collection 1.0 era before disappearing for the next 15+ years:~ assuming you don’t count Black Series 3.75 Commander Thorn into this equation:/

Sorry, but that 2005 helmet mold looks squished and popping at the top compared to this new mold. This new mold looks more like a head is in there and the head is intact. Looking at the '05 mold seems like the clone is being telekinetically squished around the black band above the eyes. Look at 4:22.

I think they’re perfect. I think the only problem I have with all these new clones is that they’re clean and shiny. Why can’t Hasbro paint dirty washes or at least some scuff marks like the 05 clones? I think the clean white works for storm troopers because they’re usually clean looking in the movies although the clones are always dirty.

This is the perfecf mold for live action clones, og antenna mold nailed episode 2 and 3 cgi clones , Antenna mold just hits way harder imo, only downside is the articulation

Also why are clone helmets such a problem, it shouldn't be. Just rip the 3d model file modify the bottom to acomodate a ball joint and use a not hard plastic but a harder plastic and they'd be golden

The chest and belt are made out of a softer plastic, so no. Only the crotch and the joints have potential to yellow due to being harder ABS plastic.
