I am very surprised about this. The difference between Catholics and Protestants - when it comes to wokeness - is HUGE. In the 1990's, I thought the Catholics were the sick son, but boy was I wrong. Did you know that in December 2023 the Methodist Conference (synod equivalent), voted to propose that ministers no longer use the words husband or wife as they were not the experience of everyone?!!!!!! What about words like accountant, postman, doctor, nurse, teacher, footballer, shop assistant, times millions more? They are even less likely to be the expert in e of every one!

Perhaps we should ask if the propose to forbid the use of words like fireman, doctor, nurse, shop assistant, postman, plasterer, butcher chemist etc time 1000s because they will be even less the experience of everyone. So the already godless ministers will have to go to great extremes to to find alternative ways of saying husband or wife. Whatever they choose must also be outlawed because it is still referring to the husband or wife. Methodism is finished now. 7 out of nine Methodist churches in our valley have closed in recent years and the Methodist leadership is blind to why. Godless, shameless and spineless “ leaders” that follow people instead of leading them. 1 Samuel 15. “Saul said I have sinned for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your (Samuel’s) word. That may be so but the influence of the Church of England is embedded deeply in the fabric of our society and has shaped the formation of Common Law in which are enshrined our rights, freedoms and values. The current hierarchy of the Church seems to have no intention of protecting and promoting these rights.
