That is awesome my friend. So many ideas from you all. Like yourself I cannot afford the big high-end booth and I really like the DIY idea. I would like to suggest getting some BNC connectors for your antennas and putting them maybe either on the side or one in each corner on the front. It will not be a good day if you accidentally break one of those while accidentally forgetting that you left them up while doing a hot mix. Lol. Thank you for the comment! Exactly - I would much rather spend that 2k on some sound or lighting upgrade, or just save the money rather than spend on a booth. Thanks for sharing and I totally agree about the BNC connector idea. That is something I just may do and another reason I really like the DIY booth. Changes and improvements can be easily made anytime!

Great videos, very detailed. What type of vehicle are you using to transport this in? I have a midsized SUV (Acura RDX) and my vehicle is packed to the roof. Not sure how much equipment you are transporting. I like the idea but it wouldn’t fit in my vehicle, looking for suggestions on how it’s transported.

Thanks for watching my videos! I agree that transportation is easily the biggest downside for this type of setup compared to flight cases. I can’t place any items on top of this, so what I do is place all my heavy duty items like speakers, cases etc and then at the end, slide this booth unit wrapped in a regular moving blanket on top so that it is at the top. There are also gator TV cases that I’ve heard others using, but I haven’t tried them myself yet. I transport everything (4 tops, bags cases and this booth) in a Honda Accord!

My biggest issue would be with transportation. It looks like it could get damaged so easily. I would love to get a dj podium setup but it just seems like so much work setting up and tearing down.

You are 100% correct that’s the biggest downside. Right now I use a moving blanket and set it flat on top of my speakers in my car, but I can’t place anything on top of it in fear that it could break. Works for me but it’s definitely not close to being as transportation friendly as the traditional road case.

Just try to read the description to confirm it’s unassembled, so that you can leave out the drawers and have space for equipment!

What kind of bag do you use to carry this to the events?

Thanks for watching! I haven’t found a bag that works yet, but so far I just wrap it in a moving blanket and put it on top of my speakers on a rock n roller cart. It definitely requires far more TLC than a road case, and transporting it is the biggest drawback. Worth it for me tho! DJ Peck found a TV screen carrying case that he uses for his booth, so something similar could be an option if you’re looking.

The most like technical stuff for building this thing were a few screws here and there, and then getting that board cut in the dimensions of your controller, but other than that nothing too complicated! Thanks for watching! So the specific type of table I bought came unassembled so basically I just did not install the drawer pieces and only assembled the desk portion. When buying a table just read the description/ comments to see whether it comes assembled or unassembled so you know whether youd be able leave out that drawer. Hope that helps!

Close! It’s actually 35 inches. I was looking specifically for this smaller one so that it would be lighter, more manageable, and since I was only trying to fit the Rev1 which is small. Thanks for watching! You are absolutely right and I own one of those too. The downside to it was the thickness and I would need those flat adapters for all of my plugs for them to fit in that space if I used the Furman. I had the Belkin sitting around at home so went with it.
