+Practical Psychology The Law of Attraction really does work! The outside world doesn't really change if we wish for something, but our perception of the world changes. We can actually see and notice things that were invisible to us before, and that to me is Amazing! Great video as always PP...

I don't doubt that this principle works based on how it affects your behavior, but The Secret is a pseudoscientific book that takes it a step further as to act like there's some magical force commanding this. The author actually said that the people who died in the 2006 tsunami would have survived if they had the right mindset.
@djdiablo93
@djdiablo93 7 жыл бұрын
Whang! a different perspective. When someone is accepting of death as they witness an impending tsunami, are they going to be as likely to try as hard to survive it as a person who has decided that they will do everything in their power to live?
@JustinWhangYt
@JustinWhangYt 7 жыл бұрын
I think our drive to avoid death, especially in a situation like that, transcends mindset. It's hard wired into us. However, there's only so much the human body can take, no matter how positive you are.
@djdiablo93
@djdiablo93 7 жыл бұрын
Whang! I agree with you that our natural instinct more often than not transcends conscious mindset and I think that may be what the author is driving at. Mindset has a lot more to it than just being positive. Granted it IS difficult to be positive in a dire situation (tsunamis for example) but our natural drives are so raw and animalistic that a little optimism and conscious focus can go a long way in a dangerous situation whereas running solely off of instinct interferes with clear judgment and performance.

OfficialRedTieJoe You understand that what you are saying is designed to allow you to wash your hands of it and move on by reconciling that if they'd wanted to live, they would have? That fundamentally, what is being said is the exact same thing as telling a cripple that Baby Jesus will heal them if they have enough faith...and when they don't get healed, you go on your merry way, figuring that it's really the crippled person's fault for not having enough faith? Do you really, truly not see that The Secret is pushing the same crap as other religions and superstitions???
@djdiablo93
@djdiablo93 7 жыл бұрын
Taticat NineLand Thats funny, what I said was "designed" by me to suggest a possible alternate meaning to what the author meant in terms of psychology. Think youre reaching too far into it with your callous interpretations of words I never said. As I explained to Whang! "fundamentally" the psychological concept of what the author states is sound, although it is mixed with mumbo jumbo, as a person with conscious focus and optimism would fare better in a dangerous situation than one overwhelmed by fear and instinct. Do you not agree with that?

I have honestly been surrounding myself around people I want to be with and have continued to meet new and great people! I believe these things truly work and thats where you have to start, believing! I have also found that letting things go is very important in the process. You can't get attached to things or people that don't work into your life. It may not be there right time as well and timing is sometimes important. Strive for greatness people. I believe we watched these videos because we are all trying to improve and that is a great start! Thank you for the videos and I hope you guys watch these videos more than once or even take notes!

Another reason why the board idea in the video works is that it is basically a commercial for your goals. Reason why big companies spend a lot of money to advertise is because advertising works. There is no reason why you can't use power of advertising to improve your self. There are many different things you can do. I, for example, have daily Outlook reminders for my goals and priorities. Putting sticky notes everywhere is another great way to advertise to yourself. I even make actual adds in Google office, print them out and tape them arround my house.

my trick was I imagined my wishes and goals being amazon products. when I buy something on amazon then I already know that it's mine. money is my believing. I pay during the process of delivery. and the more I "pay" the faster it comes. also the delivery does not take place at home. it takes place where destiny decides it to be the best place for me.

I loved the way you explained the law of attraction in this video. It surprised me to find that you're use of language, in the way you articulate ideas, was shockingly reflective of my own when I've helped people understand this beautiful phenomenon. And I've got to say, hearing about it like that only reaffirmed my belief in it. peace!

Oh boy... Okay, others in the comments have mentioned this, but I think it should be mentioned more frequently (hence this comment) that "the Law of Attraction" and the book _The Secret_ are absolutely *pseudo-scientific* (i.e., not based on any peer-reviewed studies in academia), and thus the name "the *Law* of Attraction" emits a sort of authority that it really does not hold. For the majority of the individual activities you suggested in the video, I agree that they can certainly improve the quality of your life, but not by some mystical voodoo that "science will never fully understand," but rather by some very tangible *psychology* (ringing any bells here?) which you mentioned toward the end of the video: the Placebo Effect. There's also a theory in psychology known as the Growth vs. Fixed mindset (which I believe you've made a video about), and it goes into detail about how one's attitude toward life affects their quality of life. The Law of Attraction, however, asserts that through focusing your "attention," your "intent," and your "desire," you will cause... _something_ to happen. Oh, but not all at once, or in any immediately measurable way (conveniently enough). Beyond the fact that all of those words are not well defined, the mechanism by which *any* of this positive change in your life actually _happens_ is never examined. While there may be a correlation between the behavior changes and the positive life changes, it has at no point been proven to be a *cause and effect relationship.* There's actually a name for this specific flaw in reasoning known as _false cause_ fallacy. So, in short, just because something has "Law" in the name _doesn't actually mean it is unwavering in its truth._

That is pretty true. I just graduated from University with a degree in psychology and what people should really take away from this is that the law of attraction should imply that you are more likely to exhibit behaviors and carry out actions that will hopefully get you closer to your goal. The things you want in life will not just magically appear in your lap by wishful thinking. It was still an enjoyable video but i think scientific evidence should also be considered.

Cupcake Cake The loss is something that can be observed in several respects. One: it makes a person more submissive to oppression, Two: it causes people with depression to spiral further down and isolate themselves, Three: it causes ostracism, Four: it taxes people unnecessarily, Five: it's a delusion and all delusions weaken a person's autonomy, Six: it causes victim blaming, Seven: it encourages you to avoid unpleasant realities, Eight: it makes happiness a requirement for good health instead of an end goal in itself, Nine: it demonizes 'negative' emotions even when it comes to cancer or the loss of a loved one, and Ten: it reduces empathy between people because instead of listening to someone's problems it's always, "Look on the brightside...".

I allready focus on my goals everyday by using fotos as a background for my laptop and mobile phone as well. It really does work and i always have had a positive way of thinkin before and in general. E.g : I'm believing and trusting myself (and i m a really selfconfident person rightnow)and it is improving the way how i do things and how i gratuade those especially school and the qualification for my dream job. I 'm actually not older than 18 and allready got a place to study with 100% job offer after that.. i really improved my selfconfidence and it helped me so much. Start think a little smarter and don't treat yourselves to hard because skill has also a mental influence Have a nice day enjoying the beautiful weather or e.g other videos of practical psychology

I agree, with improvement pill. From my microscopic knowledge of quantum mechanics, I can't see any reason why your thoughts should affect anything outside your body unless you take action to cause events. However, I do believe that when you are thinking positively and ready to accept the opportunity, you will notice opportunities that have been there or would have occurred anyway.

It is really interesting coming from me, a guy who only cares about hard facts, that this "law of attraction" actually works for me. In the meantime don't forget the old cliche that successful people set achievable goals. And I have another advice: don't waste your energy on getting money, that's just a piece of paper or a number on a computer screen with an arbitrarily defined value. Instead use your energy to get what you really want, for example in my case it was a flat (apartment if you will), it took me years and years but I bought it, and now I'm getting close to buying my house!

This is really only half of the battle... I can imagine and tell myself that I'm gonna place in the 95th percentile on the MCAT, but without months of studying, there is absolutely NO way that is going to happen. Granted, if I study for months and then I tell myself I'm going to fail, I will have a much greater chance of failing than if I study and tell myself I will do well. Basically, no amount of thinking about it or imagining it will get it done, no matter what it is. If something is worth it, it's going to take hard work. I'm glad out touched on that in the end. Also, placebo effects usually only change the symptoms, not the actual cause. For example, if you have a group of lactose intolerant patients and you give half of them a lactaid pill and the other half a sugar pill and tell them all to drink some milk, they may all report that their stomach feels fine, but only the ones with the actual medication will be able to digest and process the milk, the others will just think they can

The Law of attraction is such a good way to go about life, and if you're interested into learning or hearing more, I recommend watching "The Secret" on netflix. It's a document film about the book and tells you the history of LOA and how you can do it. BTW, loved when he talked about the placebo effect. It's an amazing example of how powerful the human mind is. Which is what the LOA is about, using your mind for manifestation.

You forgot to say that if your life depends on the Internet (Facebook,instagram,Twitter,...) and what another people will think about you, nothing of those will work.

The law has helped me to stay away from negative things and instead helped me focus on how I can help in making the world better. For instance, I try to stay away from videos that show cruelty to animals and instead look for ways that I can feed the animals also encouraging others around me to do so

Artsy Akira while law makers make it easier for dog fights to happen you delude yourself and avoid the issues. I wonder if you would've painted the train that took the Jews to their death as well? You know a bright yellow to accent the flames of the crematorium.

John Garrison i meant the law of attraction. and no I'm not deluding myself, I'm just avoiding to watch cruelty videos. But I'm also helping the dogs by feeding them. I'm not avoiding the issue but instead I'm creating awareness by my actions instead of negative videos

Artsy Akira Well while you were avoiding negativity lawmakers were passing laws that would decriminalize dog fights. Just FYI.

THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO!! I THINK the law of attration will work but the first thing to do is to believe it and go ahead. in a word it' s not really about the law of attraction , it's about us .are we going to commit ourselves to get what we want or are we going to add more theory to our head without acting. and i will talk about this in my future videos on WAKE-UP-NOW CHANNEL.
