Came to America from Russia age 5, with family…extremely poor. Only 2 years in school… Sang on streets for pennies…first job “singer waiter”. Taught himself to write music…over hundreds for sheet music, broadway, movies. Lived to 100 … Most popular WHiTE CHRISTMAS!

Wonderful! I had no idea they did more than one salute to Irving Berlin. I have seen the 1978 episode, but never this one!! thank you very much!

Shane Spangler you’re most welcome. I know they’ve done quite a few over the years. I remember seeing another one on PBS around the early 2000s that was broadcast in 1975. Cissy King hosted the wraparound for that I believe .

Loved it! Loved the interview with Cissy at the end! She was my favorite of Bobby’s dancing partners, I guess because she was on television with him the longest.

In the movie Star Trek: Nemesis there was a wedding scene and DATA, the android sang the song "Blue skies " this program is very enjoyable.
