welcome to part seventeen of 'the leaf'
I want to build a 1930's super reliable daily driver, I have a 1936 Austin 12 rolling frame , a 1927 to 1933 Lea Francis roadster dicky body and radiator and for power a 1800 cc Isuzu petrol engine with a 5 speed gearbox..hopefully this will be a very straight forward build and with luck shouldn't take too long, I will be documenting what this costs as we go along but needless to say I will be using INGENUITY OVER BUCKS....
this weeks main objective is to have a drive up the road in the leaf, but i start by checking 'the rat' wheels for trueness ...i continue catching up on jobs plumbing and wiring battling the rain on the road to driving up the road....also Neil takes a trip to 'wheels day ' car meet and has a look round there ....
music this week (live) the brilliant Mr Jim Hammond

enjoy ....

massive thanks to everyone who donated or brought a t shirt last time ...im truly humbled......

i've set up a tip jar so if you wanna help buy me some grinding disc or something, it would be much appreciated and will help me keep the channel going. you will find the 'tip jar ' icon on my home page above
thanks if you take part in that... and thanks all who already did....

Bryan - I see you have been hard at work in the house as well and it looks great! The best wood preservative is made from old diesel fuel and engine oil. An old farmer's trick for making sure that fence posts don't rot. It's black and will be best for the parts that are hidden. Bought a couple of the same fuse box. IO lke the fact they use screw terminals. Just finished a 1952 Singer special lightweight roadster and used screw terminal blocks at eac end of the car to bring all the wiring together, and like you are doing used housed multiconductor SO type cabling to keep it neat. Once you get the wheels trued up you should run the Leaf in a couple hillcliomb events. Have you ever met Ian Dutton, or Alan Millyard? The three of you are similar in that you adapt, and overcome using what is on hand.

Thinking about your wheel spline adaptors what is the pcd if your hubs, I.E. the diagonal measurement across the stud centres, there are loads of hub adaptors door different cars avail from Mws so you might find something that goes straight on, they also do un drilled ones too.
