I had the pleasure to befriend magifelix in season 2 back in eune when he was still a gold nunu main, and stumbled across him out of blue after transferring to the euw server on challenger ladder in 2014 and 2015. I was quite infamous for my creation of teams that were aiming at going into national leagues back then and i had many people come and go through them. I had the pleasure to play with Magifelix in 2015 in a 5v5 scenario, already back then he was innovating with a newly reworked gangplank ( becoming top one after 2 weeks of champions release) and he was a force to rely on in every teamgame. There was however one problem, that , from some sources, i know continued into his career with ESG. He barely spoke, At all, calling mostly SS and often times not even calling ults. He just performed, and the team had to adapt and keep with his pace, or it would lag behind. This is soemthing that bnot only is suboptimal at professional level, but it creates a lot of unease in other players. he would not tilt or express any grief. You'd make a mistake, and there often would be silence. In his personal communication, he appeared very reserved, and matter of fact, he doesn't really seem to give his personality away in contact. He may appear very distanced, unengaged, possibly cold. I think this is what makes him excel at soloq and not be the best in a team scenario, i would assume he also feels not fully comfortable in those socially oriented environments. For the psychologically savvy of you, this description probably does add up to a placement on a certain spectrum, but i am not qualified to make such statements so i will not speculate.

At the beginning i was thinking about tyler1 but when I saw you were speaking about an euw player i instantly hoped it was magifelix... He is absurd, i love him and I hope he will continue doing great and that he may surpass his stage fear and get what he deserves on pro level

I've heard that the reason why he didn't get the chance was because he's not really the best at communicating

@@puma21puma21 yeah i know that and i really wanted him to be the main midlaner for fnc this year but i guess there needs to be a reason why he didn't get the spot since mechanically speak he's in a totally different tier than Nisqy

@@andreastuner8383 Fnatic looking at midlane choices. Looks left: Magifelix, young, (maybe) shy, incredibly talented without ever having had a chance to play a season of big league. Looks right: Nisqy, returning from his retirement home in NA after placing 4th, not making worlds and most importantly. Losing to TSM. Fnatic: "We want the retiree"

Im making a bold prediction here: S11 will stop being about "role-experts" like midlaners, toplaners, supports and adcs. The next season will be conquered by champion pools and matchups, which means people will be assigned and swapped around positions on the map as matchups and teamcomps see fit. In an environment like that, people like magifelix could really shine bright, but it would need an organization to be willing to step ahead of the meta and construct a team around a new concept of play: everyone has to adapt and switch around positions. (except maybe jungle?) If you wanted a team to fully unlock the potential of such gifted players, you have to switch your mindset away from roles to matchups, drafts and champion pools. It would take a 200 IQ coach and organization to bring such a playstyle to fruition, but it would throw the competition under the bus fast, because they could exploit every matchup and draft to the fullest if the opponent would still stick to traditional roles.

huh interesting idea, but then 5 people would need to be really good on all 5 roles
@faselfasel28643 жыл бұрын
@@d4s0n282 You dont need 5 people to be good on all 5 roles. You only need 1 Person to flex into all positions and the other people to have big champion pools and deep matchup knowledge. You would then draft ideal teamcomps based on tactical and strategical advantages and then assign the champs to the player, who has it in their champ pool. And you would then use that 1 star player who can play every role into the most valuable position. This would mean that you for example send the person that plays cassio up against lucian bot or ryze top against ornn. Again: You dont play positions, you play matchups and drafts. And your flexible star player like magifelix is your joker you throw whereever you can get a decisive advantage from a draft perspective. It makes your teamcomps basically uncounterable if the coach is LS level smart.
@d4s0n2823 жыл бұрын
@@faselfasel2864 the problem with that is that the switched person(lets say star person goes from mid to jungle) the jungle player will have not a amazing level how to play mid, to the standard he is expected
@faselfasel28643 жыл бұрын
@@d4s0n282 that is why i said maybe keep the jungle static, because it is an entire different beast than lanes. You could still assign the star player to 3 positions then and let him play whatever and just have the other 3 people play to their champion pools and matchups. Riot is opening up the jungle to an ever increasing amount of champions with their monster dmg changes. Flex picks across and among players with the new item system in place can be utilized like never before. Your jungler stays your jungler then, but he gets handed an ekko or wukong if the enemy picks a malzahar and you send the dude with gangplank in his champion pool into midlane. I dont see any issue why a toplaner couldnt play in midlane or in botlane. I dont see why you wouldn't send your assasin player down into bot and your ranged dps into top or mid. All the restrictions that were in place that could be a detriment before, have been removed. Midlaners have now less gold on cannon minions as well. Junglers and supports are no longer item restricted. The only thing that matters now is teamcomps and matchups. You have those 3 other players just be proficient in 1 or 2 Category of champs like tanks and bruisers, or ranged dps or assasins and then you move them around the map like chess pieces, while your star player is your ace and you make sure he always has the crucial counterpick at the right position.
