A game about Hunk would benefit most from being a tactical horror shooter focusing around missions where Umbrella needed the dirty work done. Think containment breaches, snooping spies, file-burning, collecting combat data, providing security for sites. Simple stuff, straightforward missions that get out of hand and need to be cleaned up. Would love to see and hear some more of Nighthawk as well. In the event that Hunk was contracted by Blue Umbrella I like to think that finding him was incredibly difficult, and that they would have needed to burn a lot of favors and bargaining chips to even get in contact, likely introducing him via a tense phone call.

I prefer HUNK working for the villainous organizations personally...I think part of the reason fans like him is because of his antihero-ish role in the series. Story wise his biggest role is the 4th survivor mode in RE2 were he doesn't show emotion for his fallen comrades, in at least one version (Umbrella Chronicles I think) another U.S.S soldier comes on the radio screaming for help and HUNK just comments about how it's not his job to help anyone else survive (a stance I don't think Chris or the other main protagonists would appreciate). But at the same time, HUNK isn't going out of his way to kill people. In fact I don't think we see him kill any people other than in Operation Raccoon City (but HUNK absolutely would kill anyone the mission requires him too lol). HUNK was so loyal to Umbrella that he tells the pilot to leave him for dead because the mission is more important, and I think it would be really awkward to have a character THAT devoted to Umbrella working along side Chris... I'm definitely down for a HUNK game but i agree with the comments about leaving his backstory a mystery just have an action-horror game of HUNK neck-snapping his way through hordes of BOWS in his new role as a mercenary for the Connections or something lol

@@pictureanthonyrollin I like that story idea of a former Umbrella employee having to survive an outbreak that Umbrella caused in hopes it would kill them, they could even set it between Code Veronica and 4 so at the end of the game the employee survives and their testimony helps bring Umbrella down. I don't know if I would cast HUNK in the role just because I don't know if HUNK is capable of feeling emotions like betrayal. Like I said earlier the helicopter pilot told HUNK orders were to leave without him and HUNK just pretty much said "okay" and didn't feel betrayed or pissed off or scared or nothing. The version of HUNK I've made in my head might have antisocial personality disorder like some serial killers do, like he's nearly completely emotionless. But this brings up a concern about HUNK, since we're given very little of him in the RE story but see him so much in mercenaries mode or raid modes he's always on fans' minds but not really fleshed out as a character so all of us fans are filling in the holes of his character and likely all have slightly different versions of him in our heads, all equally valid because there's little cannon evidence of him. I think it's fun that we all get to tweak his character a bit in our minds but it does make me worried that if Capcom does a HUNK game they risk either having another "blah empty protagonist" like Ethan from 7 OR if they flesh out HUNK's character a bit they risk upsetting fans who have created a different opinion of what that character is like....sorry I've had a few beers this evening I didn't mean to get on that big of a tangent... personally I'm going to buy every Resident Evil game that comes out no matter what it is (I mean if I can force myself to get through Umbrella Corps I can handle anything lol)....I think the story you suggested is interesting, personally I would rather see your story with Carlos or a new character (maybe Nicholai as messed up as that sounds but I think the RE3 remake made it clear that he's dead) but regardless of what Resident Evil "Hank" ends up being, I'm sure I'm going play it and probably enjoy it.

Can’t blame them for obtaining links for upcoming RE games,but the Hunk game is one that intrigues me the most. He’s been in this game since Resident Evil 2 and he should definitely have his own survival horror game. The thing is with Boba Fett , he used to have a fairly decent background in the Comics and all , but you had to be a REAL Star Wars fans to have read those because they were pretty damn old . But these days franchises have the bad habit of trying to capitalize on a character's popularity and trying too hard to make them cool , when they already were and didn't necessarily need more . Or worse in case of animated and video game characters : give them a live-action portrayal which almost always ruins everything . I'm dead scared about a live-action appearance of Thrawn in any of the upcoming Star Wars series for instance .

I think HUNK is more best as a badass sided character causing certain events like the Raccoon City Incident after screwing up when dealing with the G-virus retrieval or moving the Tyrant to Rockford Island which made a boss fight when trying to escape. Making a game just about him takes away the mysterious badass personality where it would be better if they did Outbreak File 3 showing what he did after escaping Raccoon City like doing other Umbrella missions before Umbrella was completely gone.

i personally dont think they need to explore HUNKs backstory yet. if they did it would be due to fan pressure and they would likely disappoint. he's perfectly fine as a mysterious best agent in my opinion and if they fed us little snippets of info about him in the next few new mainline games leading up to a grand reveal of who he is in the future, I think that would be the perfect way to implement HUNKs character into the mainstream. just my opinion tho

Hunk is Resident Evil's Master Chief, he's mysterious to the point of us not knowing about who he really is or what he really looks like, and yet is an iconic figure that can immediately be identified. Part of the character archetype and identity is not actually ever knowing who they are.

Even though HUNK is my absolute favourite RE character I wouldn't want a game that would tell his backstory or even much about him, what makes him so great for me is the mystique and I think that could be said for many people. If they decide to make his backstory and his identity known, I think that would ruin the character for a lot of people. I of course wouldn't mind if he was still playable in a new game, just leave the guy a mystery.

Outrage is POSSIBLY canceled and I don’t think it is. Outrage was supposed to be resident evil 3 and feature Rebecca and with the dead by daylight chapter coming out in September with Rebecca as a survivor I doubt it’s cancelled.

Well about the Chris clones there is that moment in the Umbrella Chronicles where you play as Hunk and in the end he unmasks himself and you see that he has Chris' face. This was never explained nor mentioned after that. But if you want to make any possible connections. Hunk might be a very early clone of Chris, an experiment by himself created before the Arklay mountains incident.

Still there's the issue that HUNK really wasn't a 'team player' he was called Mr. Death for that reason and his words 'Survival is your own responsibility' in Umbrella Chronicles really hit it to me that he's the kind of person who, when it comes to his own life and his team, choses himself above everyone else. This is a very cool analysis!, it would be awesome for HUNK to have his own game, tho i dont know if he will, maybe something like a spinoff, with the concern of making mistakes, HUNK became a mercenary after the fall of Umbrella, also i believe that those former Umbrellas' employees that work in Blue Umbrella were chosen by the US gov' because they could be trusted to help clean up "red" umbrellas past, dont think US gov' would just employ everyone or anyone, and tbh the way HUNK operated and how his work ethic of "everything and everyone is expendable for mission success" gives me a hard time seeing HUNK under Chris' command, also in RE7 DLC not a hero, the "main" blue umbrella soldier that approaches Ethan and also the onde that talks to Joe and Zoe in the End of Zoe DLC is shown to be Chris. anyway, awesome vid! really enjoyed it, will be watching more of your content, cheers!

My best suggestion for Capcom is make him a protagonist in a RE game set in an apocalypse and mainly takes place in a wasteland like Arizona or something. Could be a cool plot for RE10 since it’s rumored that RE9 will be about an Apocalypse and I also belive it’s claimed to be a part 1 of a 2 part story. RE10 should take place after the Apocalypse to show all the damage that was done and ig hunt whoever caused it and likely escaped.

I definitely see Hunk playing more as a anti hero/villain instead of a good guy. HOWEVER I personally would love to see a Resident Evil game following Hunk working for Chris HEAR ME OUT. Hunk has been known to be a great umbrella operative but he’s also been labeled as a mercenary. Hunk has a history of being the only survivor and Chris hates losing good men to biohazard weapons. Why wouldn’t he make Hunk a ridiculous offer for him to work against umbrella, He would hate hunk enough to not give a shit if he died but he would also respect his skill and experience on the field. He wouldn’t care to look into his background too much ( keeping it a mystery to the player ) and throughout the game you can see Chris and Hunk exchange ideologies on being a team leader where Chris focuses on getting his team out and Hunk focuses on the mission. By the end of the game they both keep their identity while getting a bit of development.

If we take Umbrella Chronicles as canon, HUNK is NOT someone you can rely on in a fight, where he straight up ignores his fellow USS soldiers calls for assistance because, "survival is your own responsibility." He's deadly efficient, but he is NOT someone you want to rely on for anything aside from, "get the mission done." Even if we don't take UC as canon, he still has a very, "mission first," approach. Chris cares about the lives of his people. This has been stated and restated in 1, 5, 6, and 7 (DLC). The only reason it wasn't in 8 is because, aside from Ethan, no one died near him. HUNK doesn't care about the loss of life, hence why he's always the only person to come back from a mission alive. TL;DR: No, HUNK would most certainly not be in Chris's squad.

I love that HUNK was is more resident evil games than any character (except for Chris) HUNK was in 11 games and Chris was in 15. So it's crazy to think that HUNK was in more games than Leon, Jill or Claire.

My wish for a RE game in the future: A non-canon storyline of RESIDENT EVIL: BIO WARFARE, in a first-person mode Call Of Duty and Doom-like gameplay style, 60FPS, featuring HUNK, Carlos, USS Alpha Team, USS Delta Team and UBCS Team. Made by the collaboration of CAPCOM, Treyarch and Bethesda with epic boss fights in every stages from all RE games from RE0 to RE7 or RE8. Cool, dramatic, emotional storylines, epic missions, awesome and satisfying QTEs finishing moves on enemies (no human enemies please) and bosses, customisable and unlockable weapons, costumes, finishing moves, stages, etc. So many things can be done if done it correctly and properly.

to the people saying they dont want there to be a game about hunk how about a game about the USS instead? how it was founded , who its first members were , starting with hunk who then turns up here and there in flashbacks or as a side character mayby even as your mentor or trainer with you being a simple recruit you could play rodriques or whoever shot the doc in re 2 by mistake wed finally get to see what really happened to alpha team. Here is my guess so “The Connections” are the ones who Lucas was talking to in re7 and in village they informed mother Miranda’s about rose. So what if the connection is inside blue umbrella and is kind of pulling all the strings and while they have been taking down bio weapons they are also taking bio weapons of their own and their new mission is to take rose and experiment on her but to Chris they just told him we need her basically cause he doesn’t know how he is really working for.

There's no way in hell Blue Umbrella isn't somehow rotten . Maybe they genuinely don't want to be , but as you mentioned , they might have ties to organisations that are pulling strings through them . Also , you don't get to suddenly be good when a lot of your former employees where actual Umbrella personnel . Some of them were bound to have known what was happening but slipped under the radar , feigning ignorance . I would also bet on some form of involvement from H.C.F. since they were major rivals to Umbrella and are known to have worked with the Connection at some point .

Actually from what I understood about RE Revelations Raymond in the gear with the mask is called H.U.N.K so from what I gather they’re trying to make some connection and another thing since H.U.N.K is an acronym he may not be 1 person but multiple people as we never see who he is

I'd say the story continues from Re4 he was present during that time . I'd say he also had contact with Kraus . If the game goes through each location of Hunks journey it would be interesting to play through 4 through 8 . Only through hunks eyes . I even believe he might of been around in Re6 and 7 but not fitted into the game because he was forgotten about . A shadow soldier . But knowing Wesker was in 5 and his son Jake in 6 plus the major incidents in 7 and 8 . When has Hunk ever not been involved in any outbreak ? He is the most trusted employee skilled more than any other soldier besides Ada to handle special operations .

The way I see it, Hunk could and probably would leave umbrella for the right price given how Umbrella has all but dissolved in the current continuity. Taking what we know it is entirely feasible that he is working with Chris under the guise of spying on him for a possibly hidden umbrella think tank. We don't fully know if Wesker is dead nor do we know where his son is post RE6 or what influence his dad would have on him. My theory is that Wesker's dna is tainted to the point where he can control/inhabit those infected with it. Wesker brings Umbrella back online and calls upon Ada and/or Hunk to keep tabs on those responsible for the Racoon City incidents as well as those who have escaped other fates, i.e. Outbreak Files 1/2, Survivor, Dead Aim, and to remove them from the equation in a way that will push away the idea of Umbrella being the cause. The new Hunk game and possibly the DLC for village would look into setting up the reveal that Umbrella never really ended and Wesker will forever haunt Chris.
