Nora, you look so stylish! I have a gloriosum that is smaller than this but not a baby. I cut off almost all the roots and am re-growing them in my planted aquarium. Some combination of factors makes my aquarium magic for rooting cuttings. The well oxygenated circulating water, the warm temperature, the humidity. The fertilizer from fish poo and also from aquatic plant fertilizer. I stuck that plant in there less than a week ago, and I already have water roots forming, especially on the newer nodes. LECA is my end game for this baby. Thanks for the inspiration!

I have a baby gloriosum and I neglected it so badly over the last year (severe underwatering resulting in stunted growth and leaf loss) and now that I’m watering it again it’s putting out leaf after leaf. They’re still tiny though (and I mean tiny. They’re roughly the size of an American quarter😂). I’m excited to see its progress over the next year.

Gorgeous plants! The only caution I will say for using this style of pot is that the roots grow into all the little holes and when it's time to repot, it can be a nightmare. I grew mine in a self watering pot similar to that and it exploded in growth, with a new leaf every 2 weeks and within a few short months, outgrew a 45cm long pot - it was 20cm long when I bought it and its leaves now are massive. I ended up going to Bunnings and buying 2 65cm pot, self watering, but instead of using the insert, I put two pots one on top of the other and not using the insert at all and drilling big holes in the bottom of the inner pot for the wicking cord and it will make it easier to repot when I need to. This plant loves leca, absolutely loves it and it's a super thirsty plant in leca - have to refill every few days. It is currently putting it's massive new leaf over the edge of the pot so will be repotting it this week. The roots have dug into that insert and have grown through it, the leca is like a mass stuck together with the roots, so I'll be trying to lift the whole thing and transplanting it into the longer pot. Heaven help me in a few months, but by that point, I'll probably propagate it and grow it in a large plastic storage tub.

I re-potted my Gloriosum Dark Form into Leca 3 weeks ago. It gets morning, full sun for about an hour. It's doing great. I'm thinking of getting a Gloriosum. Thanks for a great tutorial!!!

Good to see the gloriosum taking well to semi-hydro. I've spotted some teeny tiny baby ones at my local garden centre for £4 so might pick myself up a couple. Your glasses are fabulous! As are your nails and hair too. Always makes for colourful videos.

I love that pot. I am exploring options for pots instead of always round. Taller pots are hard to find as well. I am going to Amazon to order that pot. I have learned so much from you, and have told everyone in my PlantGroups about you.

Pots are always such an annoying problem with semi-hydro, especially nice ones. Thank you for watching and sharing!

Va va boom! What a pretty plant; love the direction it grows but I can see planting that would be a challenge. I was thinking that shape pot would do. I can't wait til spring to attempt the large philos. I'm struggling with the few I have and they're my second favorite genus. Lovely plant! Dee, New York USA

What an amazing gloriosum ! They were my first favorite philodendron and I have been struggling to get one to start leaping like I can get most of my plants to do within a couple years. It has not happened yet , I just bought a second small one maybe it will have better genetics or Something 🍀🙏 TFS it’s truly beautiful, I will continue to do my best with my 2 . I know My Mamai I almost lost her , but then when she regrew in my environment it took off then .

Hi! Wondering how you get the plant so stable. All my crawlers topple over when I put them in leca since their stems have to be on top
@TheLecaQueen2 жыл бұрын
That has never been a problem, I pack the leca in tightly maybe that is the trick?

Nora, what did you end up planting yr Gloriosum potting since then?

This video came out, just in time! Lowes has just released a bunch of these in 4 inch pots and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them for just $7USD - I bought 7 of them!. Of course, I didn't realize until I came home that this is the Philodendron Gloriosum VERDE, and not the the dark-leafed variety. It's all good, though, I'll still be giving them out as holiday gifts. I know they're crawlers, but I'll give one a moss pole anyway just see if they've got the roots to climb. Thanks for another informative video! Keep 'em coming 💚🌲

What?? Where? Haven't seen them here in Washington, but I would grab one quick if I did!

@@kkmeilicke I was surprised as anyone, but then again, I live in L.A. some of the plant people here can be kinda bouchée. But try another Lowes or Home Depot location that caters to a "high end" clientele. You may be surprised to see how their selections differ. Happy Hunting!

Is this philodendron a plant for beginners or a newish plant parent
@vampireluvskisses2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I have a question, so when you are doing the long method before transitioning the plant into Leca - how many times a week do you swap the solution? Do you do it every two weeks ? I’m in the process of transitioning my Thai Constellation Monstera and I want to know when to change out my nutrient solution :)
@TheLecaQueen2 жыл бұрын
At least once a week
