i agree! i had never heard of him before this show.... so, i play the piano and was really pretty obsessed with learning to play the main piano jingle they use so much, but also THIS one here too.... i may be wrong, but it seems like fairly easy-to-play stuff from my experience, and mostly easy chord progression... but this composer, he figured out the BEST emotional, moving music! wish i could ask him what thoughts he had going thru his mind when he composed this stuff! its unique and next-level!! :D

@@Fircasice You don't, which is the whole point. You have to choose whether or not to believe her story. That being said, if you approach the question (of whether or not she's lying) rationally and logically, there's one answer to the question that's more likely than the other. Still, the point isn't to know because the point resides in the ambiguity.

We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. Through the unknown, remembered gate When the last of earth left to discover Is that which was the beginning; At the source of the longest river The voice of the hidden waterfall And the children in the apple-tree Not known, because not looked for But heard, half-heard, in the stillness Between two waves of the sea. Quick now, here, now, always- A condition of complete simplicity (Costing not less than everything) And all shall be well and All manner of thing shall be well When the tongues of flame are in-folded Into the crowned knot of fire And the fire and the rose are one.

"We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." T. S. Eliot. I'm sure the title came from that quote. Perhaps it's trying to tell us something with this music playing when an older Nora 'Sarah' denies knowledge of Kevin. Where is that place? I'm guessing she died/departed and comes back to Australia as an older person with a much better understanding of Earthly matters... The 'Book of Nora' shall reveal all. Can't wait.

So is this show (as sublimely written, directed, acted as it is), based on a novel... suppose to be an allegory for anything?... some deep symbolic meaning (human nature? how we cope with events we don't understand... how we interpret the unknown... death?)... or what? :/ ah... I just love watching the bloody thing and I don't really know why! BRILLIANT!
@MikeArsenault20097 жыл бұрын
The novel is actually quite slight (but brilliant) and only really delves into the theme of "nothing being truly knowable". The author and the head writer/producer from Lost made the TV show into something far more grand in scope without losing the feel of intimacy from the book. It's one of the most original adaptations I've ever seen.
@entheogenicstudiesltd53087 жыл бұрын
"nothing being truly knowable" eh?... ... ... I think 2% of the population disagree with that! :D (my holiday novel none the less!)

@@MikeArsenault2009 Actually the entire book is covered in the first season, the last two seasons are not based on the book.
@squidlytv4 жыл бұрын
The core theme that I have attributed to the show after a rewatch is dealing with grief and loss. The departure is in many ways a disaster event that causes "death". In real life people typically resort to faith to aid in loss however in the show it strips faith away and leaves the reality of no explanation of loss. The show is about coming to terms with grief and moving on.
@edcurtis66964 жыл бұрын
It's an exploration of what it means to be human. This story really emphasizes how human it is to try to explain and answer the unanswerable, and how people deal with that dynamic (i.e., religion, cults, faith, disillusion, avoidance, pretending, coping etc.).

As the ratings declined with each season the cast seemed to get smaller. Put the amount of new tracks from Richter in that category as well. :(
