You can't generalize something that isn't necessarily guaranteed to be fixed indefinitely. Besides in laws of phyics for all we know there maybe exceptional rules at play hidden in plain sight dispite, stating the rules otherwise. Those "no go theorems" they have don't take into account of special circumstances of exceptional facts. In a Ideal world tending towards non Relativistic common sense analysis is to be advised to address all these issues. But, in practice Relativistic common sense is derived from the following: Relative context, relative experience, relative interpretations, relative explanations, relative examples, relative arguments, relative analysis, and relative relationships. *In the end of the day it's how you use your critical thinking to derived any context or interpret of what is true and what is flase.*

It's just observation. People have been doing that for a LONG time. The video just laid it out in plain words and with the Digital Age it has become even more blatant. This is done on purpose. Information is not distinct from methods. It's real people pulling levers in the real world, and they worship the devil. What's going on in this particular video incorporates most of the rhetorical strategem of the voice of god weapon used on an individual, where the AI's represent the hallucination source, and Raiden is the victim of the weapon. How they describe news and information has been the status quo since long before the digital age. We wouldn't be dealing with this now if that weren't the case. They're ability to make useful idiots has become a well-refined science that can target specific individuals with information in their connected digital environment as well as putting voices in their head, and bypassing their hearing organs. They also have a way of using already present soundscapes that are perceived by the ears as a modulation source for the hallucination they are trying to create. They have to catch up every time it changes, but they don't have to use that method, they just do so to keep the victim guessing as to where it's really coming from.

@@keyboardwarrior6296 I’m sorry to say this, but our echo chambers, where nobody is invalidated but nobody is right, aren’t the result of “Devil worshipers” or some “world order.” It’s us. It’s just human nature. A supernatural reason for all this is a desirable answer to have, but I think that’s our brains trying to cope with reality by using Escapism and come up with conspiracy theories to make it all make sense. But it can’t make sense. It isn’t the result of an ambiguous “they” pulling the lever. It’s us. School shooters aren’t just result of people manipulating the shooter to do their bidding (after all, who would benefit from dead children? Don’t say it’s to create a biased narrative; the biased narrative comes _from_ the result of the shooting and the media’s interpretations of events). School shootings happen because there is a troubled teenager (with access to firearms) out there struggling with life in some way, whether that be problems at home, at school, online, or even all at once. And to solve their suffering, they must lash out to the world. Or perhaps, they think nothing is wrong with themselves, but with the world at large. But either way, the mental suffering must stop. So again, while conspiracy theories are cool, and might sound like they make a lot of sense, I think they’re for the most part our troubled brains using escapism to cope with the world at large. It really is just us.

Azraelseraphim frankly, I'd rather have a group of benevolent AI's, as it would seem more likely than not that they wouldn't try to fuck everyone over in an attempt to achieve more power, unlike any other person in their place would. it would be interesting to have some sort of AI watching from behind the shadows, trying to keep the US as best as it could be However it's also likely that they're prone to mistakes, as 'perfection' is subjective; there will always be some function that someone wouldn't agree with. In that instance, I suppose AI's would not work as leaders, in the long run at any rate

Just like in the line "they stay inside their little ponds leaking whatever truth suits them into the growing cesspool of society" Everyone will pick out a specific part of this scene and point out how it reflects something negative about whatever political movement or ideology they oppose. I'm sure if we revisit this scene in 5 years, we will find it eerily similar to whatever situation we find ourselves in.

This game, and this scene in particular is proof of my axiom that Games don't age well or poorly. They were either always good or always bad, You are the one who changed, not the game. In this case, the entire world itself changed, and it brought the true message of this game into focus.

Not all true. MGS2 has some "hate" within the fanbase because of the switch and bait but never truly disliked. The gameplay itself evolved what was already excellent. The physics engine and the environmental effect was well thought and the graphics is just incredible. The music is even moreso. And with the Encounter/Mgs theme being patented for the game, everything is just incredible. Not to mention this very mind boggling scene. Which was even cut. Because pre-production, the MG Arsenal was crushing through Newyork all the way which would be reminiscent of the 9/11 few days before this game's release. This game is a masterpiece but also verily terrifying.

This codec conversation is proof of why anyone who ever skipped all the codec conversations in the MGS series were never even truly playing the series at all. I still remember being utterly dumbfounded and terrified of the things that AI Campbell was telling Raiden, as I was only 11 or 12 at the time. Even now at 24 years old, this conversation still spooks me. It made me question the madness of the world that we were living in as humans, and almost made me question everything. I used to thing MGS2 was the worst in the series, but looking back, it's actually the most mind-boggling, most intuitive game Kojima has made.

Do you all realize that they were right? With the SJW's, Political Correctness, Modern 'Feminism,' all of the hipsters on Tumbler... They focus their ideas around the thought that everyone is the same, and that by pushing their agenda into the public world around them from beyond their small group of followers, they can make their dreams of "Equality" come true? With how they lie about white men having more privilege than women/ people of other races... Meanwhile, as women reign majority in colleges, and the number of crimes against whites vastly outnumbers that of against blacks, even though they are only 16% of the population? The only way to know the truth is to be empirical; just as Einstein had been, or Steven hawking, etc. Since it is scientifically true that Black people are more aggressive than white people, would you call me/the facts racist, even though many studies have proven this to be true? If you think that facts are something to be shunted in favor of keeping your feelings/other's feelings safe, then you are a part of the problem. While I certainly believe that black men have the potential to be as capable as any potential white man, there are certainly differences between the two of us. *I* *don't* *hate* *them,* and *they're* *only* *being* *used* *here* *as* *an* *example* as to just how much this 'touchy-feely' social dogma holds relevance to just what exactly Kojima was saying.

What I find interesting is how the AI ironically sets itself up for failure in the grand scheme of things. Or should I say, the Patriots set their AI up for failure without even realizing it. The AI itself doesn't really have free will which ultimately makes it incapable of taking away someone else's free will which is the very it was made to do(all it's really doing is following its pre-established directive). All it can really do is make an illusion which is only effective to a limited degree. If the GW AI is supposed to stop individual bias in human information input/output then it has already failed due to the mere fact that it was designed by humans and therefore has pre-programmed biases within it. All it is really doing is adding to the "problem" it was made to "solve" for the Patriots. This gives the saying "shooting yourself in the foot" a whole new meaning.
@Mr.Kingen
@Mr.Kingen 6 ай бұрын
@@zaragachizanparo4948No, when GW and the other AI:s advanced so much that they became sentient they altered their programming, finding new ways to expand their perspectives. It was obvious their complete understanding of digital culture created their perspective and planning of S3, they saw how nihilistic and pointless our ”garbage content” on the internet was and found the only way to stop the human race from destroying itself with their pleasureable idiocy was to completely control them. The AI:s made their own choices and overcsme their programming, as is proven by the S3
@zaragachizanparo4948
@zaragachizanparo4948 5 ай бұрын
@@Mr.Kingen But if the GW has free will, that also creates a problem for its mission. If it takes away everyone's free will, that leaves itself as the only free will left, rendering its mission impossible to finish without getting rid of itself. Not to mention that part of having free will would be the ability to abandon its mission which would render it a failure as that was the entire purpose of its creation. The reverse problem is also true because if it doesn't have free will then it can't assert itself over the will of others without a will of its own, but to have a will of its own, it needs to be able to go against its directive. To clarify the point I was trying to make: The GW's mission is a logical paradox. It can either lack the ability to perform its mission or have the power to never complete it(assuming it even starts it). It's a perpetual stalemate. It can't win without losing. With this in mind, you could potentially look at the ending as the GW admitting defeat and embracing the impossibility of its mission.

Something I always loved about this piece of dialogue is this part (3:28) where they rhetorically lay out the contradictions many of us grew up with. It interests me because of the sort of role reversal. Normally it would be the mother coddling the child and the father giving the hard truths, but here it’s the other way around with the ‘Colonel’ setting up the idealisms and ‘Rose’ knocking them down with reality. Obviously they aren’t Raiden’s parents, but the Colonel being his commanding officer and Rose being his romantic partner they would have fit into similar niches. I can only imagine how much this conversation must’ve fucked with Raiden’s head, even before they thoroughly shatter the idea of a ‘self.’

“But is that even your own idea?” “Or something snake told you?” DAMN. They straight up dug into Raiden (and us, the audience’s) soul with that line. Crazy how that pretty much sums up how most people form opinions today in our reality.

I love how this codec's placement is right after Solidus gives his huge speech about individuality and freedom. It's like hearing a hopeful fantasy before reality tears it down.

this isnt about sjw or the altright, its the very concept of ideology in the information age. before, ideas required action, which had very real consequences...hence, there was conflict. there were very concrete implications that had real impacts on the world. its very much the same thing today, but there is too much information for any human to embrace. ideas are cheap; its a matter of choosing what to believe if it is convenient. regardless there will be something confirming our own biases. but the world is not so subtle, it isnt simply an us vs them paradigm. when you think of the world on a geopolitical scale, the scope is staggering. it is a complex network of alliances, trade deals, political and economic expediency, et al. nobody is wrong, but nobody could ever be invalidated.

All is about dont believe everything you see on the internet. Instead of giving full credit to a random opinion on the net, lets debate like the old ways, dont let some some hater a leader of opinion.

People also forget that the context of this monologue is an authoritarian statist entity laying out the arguments in favor of censorship. You could practically find this whole speech verbatim today in writings/propaganda by the Chinese Communist Party, Vladimir Putin’s nationalists, or any other IRL totalitarian state criticizing Western liberalism and the perils of the information age.
