I remember I used to get really heated whenever I'd lose, and would often make excuses in my head But that one LazyPurple video with that line about "the guy who makes up boogeymen to protect his pride, vs the guy who gets his head blown off and starts taking notes" It really changed my perspective and I improved my gameplay by reflecting on what I was doing wrong Xenon is so deep in the "make up boogeymen to protect his pride" hole that I doubt he'll really change, but it really shows just how damaging this mindset is Every time he loses there's excuses and shit talking, and every time he wins there's even more shit talking, so he never learns from his mistakes (like constantly trying to 3v1 just to target Vorobey) It takes a lot to stop that mindset when you're so deep in it, and it's easier and more comfortable to continue digging deeper. He might never change but he serves as a good example of how not to be
@astralguardian5930
@astralguardian5930 Жыл бұрын
That is a very true statement and I remember that LazyPurple Video, it was the How to Play Sniper and him talking about the Snipers/People who get offended when a Sniper just outplays them or predicts them, and then the one guy who got killed and genuinely just asked for tips to improve and attempt to become better instead of just finding excuses like "They're cheating" or the like. Xenon is absolutely of the former group and as you say here, he's just gonna keep digging and digging his heels and grave in until he (figuratively) breaks the crust of the Earth and gets absplutely burned as a consequence.

I can relate. I used to constantly just make excuses and “not my fault”s. After seeing that LazyPurple video, I in that moment did a hell of a lot of self reflection. Ironic since I’m a pyro player. So I reflected really hard. I found that making excuses for your own mistakes doesn’t make you look smart, it makes you look untrustworthy. If everyone is in the wrong, who’s gonna tell you when you’re finally in the wrong? I’ve had many friends who’ve never in their life blamed someone else for their own failures. And I always looked up to them but I didn’t know for why, and after that Lazy’ video I realized why I looked up to them. After a while I stopped looking for things to blame, I found myself thinking more about the gameplay instead of how i’ll make the situation look preferable. I got better, I learned from my mistakes. I asked people who’re really good at Pyro on how to improve reaction times. I even asked soldiers who killed me for tips on how to combat them. Unfortunately, most soldiers are too serious. So when asked they often just told me to scram. But when they didn’t, they gave genuinely good advice. And for you, my dear reader. I have a tip for you on how to fight soldiers as pyro: The rate of fire of their rocket launches are almost in sync perfectly with pyros airblast. So if you play your cards correctly, soldiers won’t be able to sneak a secondary rocket into your airblasts.

I have def been tilted a few times, it happens, but I never went to the extreme like xenon, and I advise everyone else not to as well. in alot of competive games I played. There were known people cheating... be it MOBAs, Shooters and more. And with this deep dive I started to see more of those who I accused in the past of cheating... might been cheaters after all. They show similiar traits like Xenon. Only focussing on kills, doing mysterious actions that only highly skilled players can do, yet failing to do basic strategies for the rank. Being uber aware of some actions of me and teammates that litterly would only do bad for a bad player. (such as having a scout on last point in matches like these, why chase it with non of your team dead? You have an advantage to push futher.) If you are so good you can hit most headshots, you will focus on strategy more in team based games. I had this in Heroes of the storm a lot. Where my entire team will chase down 1 player to kill em, to only be faced by them since they outsmarted and outskilled them. I adopted the strategy in the game to not chase a single kill if you can take the match. Always force the fight in your favor, not the other way around if you are winning. Anyhow... people will cheat in online games, competive or not. Cause some people want to win and shit over others for own entertainment. Any age, any heritage, any gender. Cheaters will cheat cause it's fun for them. And as I even learned.. no matter how much hours or money they put into a game... they will cheat on their mains and alts. Ugh...anyhow... the more I see the cheating world of games, the more I feel justified of calling out people as cheaters who claim I have a "skill issue", while in reality.. they were just cheating and I an "above average player, but far from pro" had better game knowledge then a cheater like them. No wonder I lost games with "Skilled players' who have "No knowledge" No wonder I beat "Skilled players" by doing something risky and unknown to "normal players" No wonder so many super "Skilled players" die to gimmicks, cause in the end.. strategy beats skill.
@Nehfarius
@Nehfarius Жыл бұрын
If I may correct you on one thing: cheaters don't cheat because it's fun for them, that's an excuse. Cheaters cheat because they are bad. They cheat because they suck too much to be big names, but they want it so bad because their egos demand it of them.
@kotlolish
@kotlolish Жыл бұрын
@@Nehfarius Not 100% true, cheaters are bad and need their ego stroked sure, but that's FUN FOR THEM. It's just how I word it. Since guess what? Some people cheat and hack cause it's fun to destroy the game for their own enjoyment. Imagine a hacker on a minecraft server blowing up buildings for fun with cheats. In competitive it's more EGO. In online games in general it's personal fun. Blatant cheaters most of the time just do it to mess with people. Ego cheaters (or closeted cheaters) do it for their own fun and ego. "I AM BETTER HAHA" Either way the Blatant cheaters are jerks but you can atleast give em minor respect for knowing they cheat and sometimes you can ask them not to do it and they stop. (Rarely happens, seen it twice) Ego cheaters however are not respectful at all.. THEY JUST CARE ABOUT WINNING AND BEING THE BEST! Also blatant cheaters sometimes are people who played the game long enough that they just wanna do something stupid like cheating to get some fun out of it before they are leaving the game. Anyhow... same difference , different wording. Cheaters suck to me non the less... just.. don't ruin the game for others for own enjoyment.

you can already tell what kind of person he is just by the way he spells his name on his steam profile and also because he calls cheats after dying literally once

Now that I think about this whole situation I think of this quote Vorobey: "For you the day I graced your lobby was the most important day of your life, for me it was just another Tuesday."

I've never played tf2, i really want to, but i do play competitive overwatch 2 and I've had people do games like this, where they get really mad at me playing wrecking ball and they started sending death threats and other things to me since they apparently didnt like me playing wrecking ball, but i got over it and luckily my random teammates defended me
