I love it in a Boss fight when he goes from blue to yellow. Like in Rocky 4 see Drago can bleed he's mortal.

This was nice. Your party level is supposed to be in the low 30s at this point so it was easier than normal, but doing it in 1 attempt was still impressive.

I would use Miranda instead of Meru to keep reviving the party. Even so, it was a good battle. You did it great!

Ya know I never realized Faust would counter with the same element as the person attacking him until this video. Growing up when I played this as kid I always cheesed the Divine Dragon Spirit and Faust by using two Legend Casques. Specifically cause I primarily used Albert and Kongol who each go down in one magic attack, two if your lucky. So I was like oh screw this noise and grinded til I had enough for those two. Sure I probably should of changed up my party but back then I sucked at using Meru and was only average with Haschel and Rose so I stubbornly said no. Made the rest of the game a joke though lol. Kudos on beating them Miles.

so sorry for the delayed response!! I'm always happy when I'm able to show something someone else hasn't seen before so thank you for that. Doing video playthroughs I have to do a little bit of a balancing act of keeping to a schedule and also not falling behind too much in levels and such.. as well as not getting too ahead in power to make things look too easy. I think if I were playing it off video.. I would have done what you did.

My first time fighting faust I was Dart, Haschel, and Kongol. It was a struggle but I won my first try. Kongol was a glass cannon in that fight. He was dealing massive damage but was also getting dominated by Faust's magic. Nowadays I tend to fight Faust with Muru and one of the other female characters with everyone geared for magic defense and no consideration for physical defense because Faust doesn't have a single physical attack. At least I don't think he does.

Congrats on the fight. Yes use Faust save to continue forward. That phantom ring (half damage from all attacks) is an awesome. Should look into angle plume(head gear) could be useful in final fight. It can be found way back in the town you got kongols DG spirit

I can't believe you trolled us all into thinking you lost your chance to face him by saving over any earlier files. 😭How could you?! But... congrats anyway I guess. >_> That was some epic physical shield usage on Albert at the beginning there. That was classic Miley-man. That's exactly what we're all here to see! Good job! And, he *did* in fact do "cheap" moves. The massive fire nuke, water nuke, and wind nuke at 100%, 50%, and 25% health respectively. Those are usually party-ending wipes, but you made it through them without a game-over... somehow. You can plan for them ahead of time if you know they're coming, and guard up/magic shields/power down/Rose Storm/etc right beforehand. Now you might as well keep going with your strongest file. Why not, anyway. You earned it. What's the point if you can't enjoy the rewards? ;/

Keep going on this save file. You lucked out surviving when you should have had a total party wipe. Also the final boss isn't that hard, it's just a really long slog to get through all of his HP

You came into this fight at a pretty high level, but that said you did quite well. Impressive 😁👍 I personally wouldn't recommend using this save to do the rest of the game as the rest isn't very difficult and all this exp/gp/items would just trivialize it harder but that's just my opinion so you do you 👍

I can’t remember if I beat Faust with one Legend Casque equipped or two.(in my defense, I was using Albert and Kongol, the two squishiest when it comes to taking magic damage lol). I made money really easily by just selling every piece of gear my characters weren’t using and selling every magic spell I got, as well as MP and SP potions.

Dragoon spells or spells in general dont trigger anything, but its still best to avoid them. Faust's stats are similiar to miranda if you look at her stat breakdown

The DG armor isnt really cheese. A lot of times you can go for this fight way earlier than the level you are at, in which case it practically becomes required. I think of it like a puzzle and fight in one. Knowing that the DG armor and Legend Casques will be super strong against him is something you figure out after dying to him the first time. Legend casques give massive magic resist and the dg armor nullifies his counter mechanic. I undestand if people get a little annoyed because they wanted you to go through what they went through, in having to figure out the counter mechanic for yourself, but its not that big of a deal.

Mind crush + Bandit Ring (especially if wearing bandit shoes too) does more overall damage than soul eater + therapy ring, due to how many more turns you get.

I see you use these on Albert, which isn't a bad idea, but I tend to use Haschel simply because of how much faster he is over Albert.

Thanks for the tips Rand! Yeah I think this might just be my party going forward. The only hesitancy I have atm is Miranda instead of Meru if Zieg somehow retained some of his Red Dragoon abilities..

Not gonna say either way, but personally if I thought Zeig might be fire element, I'd definitely bring Meru with her high magic, and water spells that do extra to fire. I'd also make sure she has some extra magic defense for the reverse, so the fire doesnt take *her* out lol. But that's just me 😉

This fight felt easier than doel and lenus because you played it infinately better. Go back and watch you fights with those two and you can laugh at all the nooby mistakes. Something that is very overlooked by players in the first three discs is just how strong a well timed defend can be. As the bosses do more damage, defending becomes even stronger. 50percent damage mitigation is often way stronger than 50 percent heal. Rose storm basically being free defend for 3 turns on everyone is extremely strong, probably the single strongest ability in the game
