@fishbone33338 жыл бұрын
They have changed the way they vote for the Heisman since the 1980's and 1990's. For example, Andre Ware would not win the Heisman now because his team wasn't a national title contender. Now, it's seems very unlikely that a player outside of the "Power 5" conferences will get any serious consideration for the Heisman unless an extremely special player comes along. Perhaps Ward, Jr can be that player!

What drives me crazy after watching this is remembering what this team lost because Tom Herman was too busy leveraging offers for more money when he leaves at the end of the season, instead of focusing on his team and their goals. This team should have been the first G5 team to make it to the playoffs and that was largely possible because Greg Ward Jr was the best playmaker at that time in college football. He beat Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, and even Patrick Mahomes in high school. Unfortunately his unbelievable athleticism hasn’t been on display enough because experts think he’s too small.

Ryan Jacobs it’s not cause he’s black it’s because he’s a mainly mobile qb who was considered a heavy risk based on the fact that he might not last like what happened to RGIII. That’s also why Lamar fell so deep and considering the fact that Greg ward had more rushing touchdowns than passing makes teams look at him as less of a qb and more of an athlete. It had nothing to do with race but with the questioning of his ability to last considering teams like to draft their franchise guy, and by having such an injury risk it’s impossible to be that guy

He was a couple years too early, still not sure he has a shot though as a die-hard Greg Ward/UofH fan I'd love to see it. Reason being is he doesn't have the height; he's 5'10. Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson are 6'2, Cam Newton at 6'5. He was a great play-caller and his ability to scramble and make a play out of nothing or make a big play out of a designed run was great but the Eagles are doing exactly what our coaching staff did wrong; beef him up to prevent the risk of injury. Dude can be back in his old form if they let him play like he used to.

He may want to reconsider, at least for Ward.

I know everybody is going to be mad at me, but I 'm not trying to troll anyone. I don't think Greg Ward Jr is a very good quarterback, he's a superb athlete that has been molded into a decent quarterback. He really lacks a solid long ball, his decision making when throwing is often suspect, and his arm can be really inconsistent at times. I think he will probably go on to play RB in the NFL, because that's where his game really shines, he's a creative runner, he has real top end speed and agility, and he isn't afraid of contact. Like I said, I'm not trying to upset anyone, I just felt like leaving my two cents.

+thoughtlessconcept dumb comment!!!...in his entire career ward has never thrown less than 65% for the season (3/4 of all qbs did less than 60%), he is top 15 nationally in pure passer rating (no running stats included)..and "molded" into a decent qb??? ward was 6-2 as a starting qb before herman ever stepped on campus including a win versus a top 25 team his first game with no practice at qb (his sophmore year)..."his decision making when throwing is often suspect" is EXTREMELY WRONG, and i'm guessing you never watched any houston games. he is a extremely smart passer, he had 6 total INTS last year in 13 games, will throwing almost 3000yds on 67% completion...i'm not going to say ward is the greatest passing qb, he has his flaws like arm strength (probably wont see him throw any passes longer than 50yds) but most of your comment is ridiculously wrong

Just had to come back and say "I told ya so," he was just invited to the NFL combine as a receiver, meaning my insight turned out to be pretty accurate considering how "EXTREMELY WRONG" it was. Sometimes numbers don't tell the whole story, ask Tim Tebow.
@osikua51597 жыл бұрын
he is in the combine as a wr because he is 5'10, not because "he wasnt a good quarterback"..you didnt prove a single point...most people knew he would have to switch on switch on size...your post was EXTREMELY WRONG then and EXTREMELY WRONG now, because you inferred he wasnt a good quarterback..donnel pumphrey will almost certainly have to switch to a slot receiver in the nfl because of size. that doesn't invalidated him being an elite rb in college

You know what, you're probably right, I remember when 5'11" Russell Wilson had to enter the draft as a WR because despite his elite QB skills he was too short to play the position in the NFL...
@osikua51597 жыл бұрын
bro some basic research will take you far, russell wilson was 30lbs heavier than ward...30LBs!! and if Ward was drafted as a qb he would be the smallest qb ever drafted in the 7 round draft era (noting doug flutie is the ONLY qb wards size , height and weight, to have any major success in the nfl, and he had to spend 10 years in canada before the nfl gave him a shot)..you really have no clue about this topic
